The cavernous venue is absolutely packed full of gorgeous sculptures, busts and paintings. In their own words: “This is not merely a restaurant, it is a breath-taking feast for the senses”. 5. Claridge’s Restaurant, Mayfair
Claridge’s Restaurant showcases a contemporary take on art deco design by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio. The interior features a modern coloUr palette complemented by Calcutta Viola marble and antique brass. Mosaic flooring, central leather banquettes, and dramatic pendant lamps inspired by Joseph Hoffman add glamour. If you’re looking for classy, Claridge’s is the epitome of it. 6. Mount St, Mayfair
Mount St restaurant is known for its stunning interior, including a mosaic floor and walls adorned with artwork. The space integrates architecture, art, and design throughout the building, with site-specific artist commissions taking centre stage. ๐ The nearest train station is Bond Street.
7. Cycene, Shoreditch
Cycene is a Michelin-starred restaurant offering a tasting menu-only experience with influences from Japan and Australasia. The multi-floor restaurant features a dimly lit downstairs bar with roughly plastered walls, creating an effortlessly stylish ambiance and perfect for an intimate date-night atmosphere. The upstairs dining room is more glamorous yet understated, with homey rugs, prettily dressed tables, and artwork including a Frank Auerbach portrait. It’s chic and delicious.
๐You’ll find Cycene at Blue Mountain School, 9 Chance Street, E2 7JB.
๐ The nearest train station is Shoreditch High Street.
8. sketch, Mayfair
This list of the prettiest restaurants in London isn’t in any particular order, but whichever way we did order it, sketch would probably have emerged at number one amongst London’s prettiest restaurants. From the breathtaking spectacle of The Glade, to their ever-Instagrammed toilets, this place is straight up gorgeous. Read all about it here.
๐You’ll find sketch at 9 Conduit Street, W1S 2XG.
๐ Nearest station is Oxford Circus.
9. 14 Hills, City of London
A beautiful addition to the capital, where it sits beneath the tranquil rooftop The Garden at 120, 14 Hills is one hot spot. I mean, just look at the fancy furnishings, elegant bar, and tropical plants, artfully festooned around the place. They also do a mean brunch, in case you needed another reason to visit… Learn more here.
๐You’ll find 14 Hills on the 14th floor of 120 Fenchurch Street, EC3M 5AL.
๐ Nearest station is Fenchurch Street.
10. Sessions Art Club, Clerkenwell
An undisputed hidden gem nestled in the heart of Clerkenwell, Sessions Arts Club effortlessly blends an impressive artistic flair with culinary excellence. Housed in a restored 18th-century courthouse, the restaurant’s interiors boast high ceilings, grand windows, and an eclectic mix of vintage and contemporary decor, making this dining experience just as visually stunning, as it is delicious.
Each corner of the space exuberates elegance, with lush greenery, distressed walls, and carefully-curated artworks, as each quirk creates this unmatched atmosphere of bohemian charm. As for the food, the menu is crafted to offer a seasonal selection of modern European dishes that are beautifully plated to match the immersive interiors.
๐You’ll find Sessions Arts Club at 24 Clerkenwell Green, EC1R 0NA.
๐ Nearest station is Farringdon.
11. Clos Maggiore, Covent Garden
It’s a firm fixture on our most romantic restaurants in London list, and for readily apparent reasons. Snag a seat in the “fairy room”, and you’ll be dining beneath insanely ‘grammable cherry blossoms whilst being sat next to a roaring fire. Food skews towards fancy, French, and filling – with a price point to match – but it’s nonetheless a meal to remember! More information can be found here.
๐You’ll find Clos Maggiore at 33 King Street, WC2E 8JD.
๐ Nearest station is Covent Garden.
12. Sparrow, Mayfair
With gorgeous interiors of indoor trees, low lighting, and gold accents, a meal at Sparrow is a real treat. It’s not just the interiors though: the team’s attention to pretty details extends to the place settings, drinks, and of course the food. A few of the Secret London team have visited themselves, noting the decorative sprig of rosemary in the folded napkins to the spicy cocktail served with a flourish of fire (and a cute fire water bottle attached to the drink’s garnish). The drinks menu’s pretty illustrations only add to the reasons why Sparrow is on this list of prettiest restaurants.
๐You’ll find Sparrow at 1-3 Avery Row, W1K 4AJ.
๐ Nearest station is Bond Street.
13. La Poule au Pot, Belgravia
Belgravia’s cutest fancy French restaurant is actually a cousin of Maggie Jones’s, which explains the similarly rustic vibes and photogenic dรฉcor. A menu of snails (sorry, escargots), French onion soup, Boeuf bourguignon, and more make it one to visit, not to mention their very affordable three-course option for under ยฃ40. Read our guide here.
๐You’ll find La Poule au Pot 231 Ebury Street, SW1W 8UT.
๐ Nearest station is Sloane Square.
14. Mari Vanna, Knightsbridge
This one flew under our radar until recently, but no beautiful restaurant can escape the eyes of Secret London for long! Mari Vanna is a study in Russian elegance, combining opulent chandeliers with homely touches like retro crockery. Carb-heavy dishes like pirogis, borsht, and beef stroganoff certainly don’t hurt its appeal, either. Find out more here.
๐You’ll find Mari Vanna at Wellington Court, 116 Knightsbridge, SW1X 7PD.
๐ Nearest station is Knightsbridge.
15. Amazonico, Mayfair
Rocking a pretty gorgeous arboreal theme, here’s Madrid transplant Amazonico, which brings the flavours of Peru, Colombia, and Brazil to Mayfair. It’s a toss-up as to what’s more exciting – the caramelised pineapples, spun over a gentle flame for four hours for maximum taste, or the tropical interiors, dotted with models of peacocks and tropical creatures. You can read all about it here.
๐You’ll find Amazonico at 10 Berkeley Square, W1J 6BR.
๐ Nearest station is Green Park.
16. Bob Bob Ricard, Soho
I’d estimate a good 60% of Bob Bob Ricard’s attraction lies in their downright dangerous “press for champagne” button, but you can also feast your eyes upon vintage blue and gold interiors, whether that be at the bar or in their ultra-luxe dining room. Happily, there’s a second, similarly champagne-happy site over in The Cheesegrater, but the Soho spot remains the OG. Find out all the details here.
๐You’ll find Bob Bob Ricard at 1 Upper James Street, W1F 9DF.
๐ Nearest station is Piccadilly Circus.
17. Casa Do Frango, London Bridge
Piri piri is, naturally, so good they named it twice, but equally nice are Casa Do Frango’s exposed brick interiors, light-flooded dining room, and artfully dotted house plants. Plus, with cocktail bar The Green Room hidden in the basement, it’s a place you’ll want to spend plenty of time in – especially once you’ve tucked into the chicken! They also boast venues in Shoreditch and Piccadilly so you’re spoiled for choice. See more here.
๐You’ll find Casa Do Frango at 32 Southwark Street, SE1 1TU.
๐ Nearest station is London Bridge.
18. Ziggy Green, Mayfair
Courtesy of the Daisy Green group, Ziggy Green offers up gorgeous environs with more than a touch of Bowie flair. Artworks hang from every spare bit of wall, and guests are greeted by a stunning light sculpture when they arrive, which provides an interactive โZiggyโ moment as they enter the space. The menu ranges from Bowie’s favourite dish – a sharing Shepherdโs pie – to open-fire BBQ dishes courtesy of Aussie chef Chris Lyon (previously of Estelle Maison, Lisboeta, and Scully). Don’t miss the deconstructed Tim Tam chocolate dessert or the Bowie-inspired cocktails.
The team also recently reopened the Colony Room Club downstairs from Ziggy Green – which acts as a time capsule back into the past. Part living art installation, part seedy drinking den, it recreates the heyday of what was once the beating Bohemian heart of Soho. The best part? The drinks prices are also authentic to the time!
๐You’ll find Ziggy Green at 4 Heddon Street, W1B 4BD.
๐ Nearest station is Piccadilly Circus.
19. Luca, Clerkenwell
Luca is where style, elegance, and magical Italian food all meet up – in the most gorgeous of environs. The dรฉcor draws inspiration from 1950’s Italy, from the olive trees in the garden room to the intimate booths and cobbled floor. It’s a simply stunning example of how some of London’s prettiest restaurants will make you feel like you’ve left London altogether! If you can, take a seat in the terrace garden room, where blooming jasmine perfumes the air and the sun scatters shadows around the room. They’re not just a pretty face either, with a Michelin star to their name, recognising the incredible quality of the food that matches the incredible interiors.
๐You’ll find Luca at 88 St John Street, EC1M 4EH.
๐ Nearest stations are Farringdon and Barbican.
20. Berners Tavern, Fitzrovia
Located in the swish Edition Hotel in Fitzrovia, Berners Tavern is a beloved bar and restaurant with a distinctive charm. This grand restaurant, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton, continuously dazzles guests with its majestic interiors that are reminiscent of an impressive, European dining room. The walls are adorned with an awesome mix of framed artwork, creating a sense of timeless elegance.
When it comes to the food, the menu is a celebration of the best of British cuisine, offering refined yet hearty dishes that shine a spotlight on local and seasonal ingredients. If you’re looking to impress, drop a pin in this quintessential dining destination that’s a luxe escape from the nearby hustle and bustle of Oxford Street.
๐You’ll find at the Edition Hotel, 10 Berners Street, W1T 3NP
๐ Nearest stations are Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street
21. Cafe Laville, Little Venice
Perched precariously over the waters of Regent’s Canal, Cafe Laville makes our prettiest restaurant list for the gorgeous views it commands of the water. It’s doubly special in summertime when the glass doors are thrown open for al fresco dining – and triply special if you can dig into a plate of freshly-made pasta at the same time. More info here.
๐You’ll find Cafe Laville at 453 Edgware Road, W2 1AT.
๐ Nearest station is Warwick Avenue.
22. Linnaean, Nine Elms
Well before Battersea Power Station finally arose from its slumber, Linnaean was doing its part to revitalize the area and bring it back to life. Part beauty salon, part cafรฉ, it earns a spot on our list thanks to pastel colours and floral decor – and cake, of course. Never forget the cake. Learn all about it here.
๐You’ll find Linnaean at Embassy Gardens, 2 New Union Square, Nine Elms, SW11 7AX.
๐ Nearest station is Nine Elms.
23. Bar Douro, London Bridge and City of London
We’re eternally grateful for all that Portugal has given the world, but especially for the holy trinity of port, pasteis de nata, and azulejos. Luckily, you’ll find them all in spades at Bar Douro, which marries brilliant small plates with a sense of design flair. Just look at those tiles! Find out more here.
๐You’ll find Bar Douro at 35B, Arch, 85B Southwark Bridge Road, SE1 0NQ and at Unit 3, 1 Finsbury Avenue, EC2M 2PF.
๐ Nearest stations are London Bridge and Moorgate.
24. Uchi, Hackney
Right up at the restrained end of the design spectrum amongst London’s prettiest restaurants lies Uchi, which eschews the bells and whistles of Insta-ready dining in favour of something authentic. Sunken dining tables, soft wood, and white curtains permeate a homely, wholesome space, which is quickly filled with as much sushi, robata, and tempura as you can muster. Find out more here.
๐You’ll find Uchi at 144 Clarence Road, Lower Clapton, E5 8DY.
๐ Nearest station is Hackney Downs.
25. Santo Remedio, multiple locations
My memories of Santo Remedio are, admittedly, a little hazy, having ventured along to try their bottomless margarita brunch. (Yes, that is as amazing as it sounds). Still, a quick scan of Instagram reveals a riot of colour, and since the food is pretty excellent too, it’s well worth checking out. There’s also a Santo Remedio Cafรฉ in Shoreditch for a more intimate offering and a stunning Mexican Casona & Cantina in Marylebone. Read all about it here.
๐Find your nearest Santo Remedio here.
26. Circolo Popolare, Fitzrovia
Circolo Popolare and sister restaurants Gloria, Ave Mario, and Jacuzzi, certainly aren’t known for their subtlety. Gigantic pizzas, outlandish pasta dishes, and a fabulously OTT lemon meringue pie are the standouts here… if your eyes are fixed only on the menu, of course. Otherwise, you’re probably looking at the fairy lights and 20,000 bottles of booze – which is pretty understandable. Full information here.
๐You’ll find Circolo Popolare at 40-41 Rathbone Place, W1T 1HX.
๐ Nearest station is Tottenham Court Road.
27. The Petersham, Covent Garden and Richmond
The entire Petersham Empire is extremely aesthetic, from their charming Richmond garden centre and tea room to the homeware shop in the heart of Covent Garden. That extends to neighbouring restaurant The Petersham, which goes all in on the plants and chandeliers, without skimping on the flavour. Sunny days are best spent in the whitewashed courtyard, a world away from the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden. Read all about it here.
๐You’ll find The Petersham at 2 Floral Street, WC2E 9FB and at Nightingale Lane, Richmond, TW10 6UZ.
๐ Nearest stations are Covent Garden and Richmond.
28. La Bodega Negra, Soho
Although the sign may offer GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS, the reality is in fact TACOS TACOS TACOS. Which seems like a reasonable compromise, right? Head to the basement for low-lit dining amongst artfully distressed furniture, and don’t forget an all-important snap in front of their very misleading neon sign. Here are all the details.
๐You’ll find La Bodega Negra at 16 Moor Street, W1D 5AP.
๐ Nearest station is Leicester Square.
29. Minnow, Clapham
Great things come in small packages, and squeezed into a little space on the fringes of Clapham Common is Minnow. The inviting frontage hits at their serious design credentials, and the stained glass window inside just proves that. Seasonal British cooking is the hallmark of their menu, and with a heavyweight Sunday roast on offer too, you’ll fall in love with more than the dรฉcor at one of the prettiest restaurants south of the river. More info here.
๐You’ll find Minnow at 21 The Pavement, SW4 0HY.
๐ Nearest station is Clapham Common.
30. Peggy Porschen, Belgravia
It’s a great irony of London’s urban planning that a place so grey and uninspiring as Victoria Coach Station can sit basically right next door to one of the prettiest bakeries in town. Perfectly pink Peggy Porschen always has people queuing out the doors for cake, and a snap beneath the flower-garlanded entrance. Find out more here.
๐You’ll find Peggy Porschen at 116 Ebury Street, Belgravia, SW1W 9QQ.
๐ Nearest stations are Victoria and Sloane Square.
31. Berenjak, Borough and Soho
Modelled on the hole-in-the-wall eateries of Tehran, Berenjak has a ravishing range of kababs, khoresht, and more Persian dishes available. If you can snag a seat in the Hayat, you’ll find a cosy, comfy space hidden behind a curtain, which really is the perfect hideaway to try everything on the menu. They’ve also got a late-night bottomless kebab menu – need I say more? Learn more here – and keep an eye out for their new location in Mayfair!
๐You’ll find Berenjak at 1 Bedale Street, SE1 9AL, and 27 Romilly Street, W1D 5AL.
๐ Nearest stations are London Bridge and Tottenham Court Road.
32. Dalloway Terrace, Fitzrovia
The best thing about Dalloway Terrace is that you can come back every season and see it in a different outfit, because it’s often dressed in russet for Autumn, twinkling with frosted pine in Winter, or verdant through the Spring. Instagram is usually an excellent barometer of this, but there’s really never a bad time to wander along. You can see more here.
๐You’ll find Dalloway Terrace at 16-22 Great Russell Street, WC1B 3NN.
๐ Nearest station is Tottenham Court Road.
33. Brother Marcus, Spitalfields
Another of our prettiest restaurants that goes heavy on plant life, Brother Marcus is a wonderful spot for a special meal. It’s all very a e s t h e t i c, but perhaps even prettier is The Step Sister, a tower of sweet potato, courgette and feta fritters, avocado and kale, turmeric yoghurt and a poached egg which had our Georgie swooning. Read her review here. (Brother Marcus also now counts locations in Covent Garden, Angel, Borough Yards, and South Kensington under their belt.)
๐You’ll find Brother Marcus at 2 Crispin Place, Whitechapel, E1 6DW.
๐ Nearest station is Liverpool Street.
34. SUSHISAMBA, Covent Garden
When your first restaurant is high up in the Heron Tower, and commands views over The Gherkin, you’d better do something special for a sophomore effort. Thankfully, SUSHISAMBA’s gorgeous overgrown jungle in Covent Garden – finished off with bespoke lighting, marble counters, and plush velvet chairs – does just that. It’s not the restaurant group’s only site in London, but it is one of the most stunning! More info here.
๐You’ll find SUSHISAMBA at 35 The Market, WC2E 8RF.
๐ Nearest station is Covent Garden.
35. Brunswick House, Vauxhall
A worthy addition to this roundup of the prettiest restaurants in London here. Ever been in a restaurant and wished you could walk out with a load of the fixtures? I mean, apart from all the previous spots on this list, of course. Well, at Brunswick House, you can, for everything you see is for sale – because the fancy restaurant doubles up as an antiques shop, filled with chandeliers, mirrors, and chairs. You’ll be leaving with more than just a full stomach, I’m sure. See more here.
๐You’ll find Brunswick House at 30 Wandsworth Road, SW8 2LG.
๐ Nearest station is Vauxhall.
36. Julie’s, Notting Hill
This West London restaurant already boasts an impressive reputation and history to its name, but under the direction of new owner Tara MacBain it’s gone from strength to strength. The stunning restaurant spans two floors – plus an alfresco terrace – and combines old-world luxury with a modern aesthetic. Centre to it all is the dramatic chandelier which spans the entire restaurant ceiling. You’ll almost spend your whole meal looking up at the ceiling instead of your food!
๐You’ll find Julie’s at 135 Portland Road, W11 4LW.
๐ Nearest station is Holland Park.
37. Bancone Golden Square, Soho
I’m entirely biased on this one, since Bancone happens to be one of my all-time favourite restaurants in London. The original branch sits in Covent Garden, and they also count a site in Borough Yards to their name, but the Soho restaurant might be my favourite. It features counter dining, antique mirrors, and an olive tree in the heart of the restaurant. Some of the finest pasta dishes in town round off a truly special dining experience. Read our review here.
๐You’ll find Bancone Golden Square at 8-10 Lower James Street,W1F 9EL.
๐ Nearest station is Piccadilly Circus.
38. Petersham Nurseries, Richmond
We mentioned the Petersham Empire earlier and it’s time to return! Although not strictly a restaurant, this adored garden centre boasts an adorable (and visually stunning) cafรฉ and eatery that’s perfect for a picture-perfect lunch. Petersham Nurseries offers must-try dining experiences that blend a rustic charm with its gorgeously green and lush gardens.
From dining in a glasshouse to an immersive afternoon tea, the setting creates an enchanting atmosphere that feels worlds away from the rowdy vibrations of London life. It might even inspire you to spruce up your home, being one of the few restaurants in London where you can purchase a plant on your way out! For more information, check out our article.
๐You’ll find Petersham Nurseries off Petersham Road, Richmond, TW10 7AG.
๐ Nearest station is Piccadilly Circus.
39. Tiffany Blue Box Cafe, Knightsbridge
The words “Tiffany” and “aesthetic” are virtually synonymous, so it’s no surprise to find the brand’s Harrods cafe on this list. Inspired by the NYC flagship cafe on Fifth Avenue, the London spot features the famous Tiffany blue for the walls, upholstery, and crockery, and boasts a rather delectable afternoon tea. Find out more here.
๐You’ll find Tiffany Blue Box Cafe at 87-135 Brompton Rd, SW1X 7XL.
๐ Nearest station is Knightsbridge.
40. Apple Butter, Seven Dials and Westminster
Giving the Garden of Eden a run for its money, Apple Butter’s claim to being one of London’s prettiest restaurants leans heavily on the giant apple tree at the heart of the cafe. Middle Eastern-inspired desserts provide plenty of temptation – but be warned, it’s so popular (because it’s so beautiful) that you’ll likely have to queue! Read all about it here.
๐You’ll find Apple Butter at 32-34 Monmouth Street, WC2H 9HA, and 4-5 Langham Place, W1B 3DG.
๐ Nearest stations are Covent Garden and Goodge Street & Oxford Circus.
41. Gold, Notting Hill
Name your restaurant after a precious resource, and an age-old symbol of wealth and prosperity, and you better have something impressive to back it up with! Fortunately, Gold has plenty to show for their name. However, it’s not all flash and pizzazz, or opulence and wealth that contributes to it being one of London’s prettiest restaurants. Instead, the interior is restrained and understated, but delightfully cosy and gorgeous. Oh, and it’s also decorated on the outside with a stunning building-encompassing artwork that peers down at passers-by and extends into the dining room. The food, seasonal sharing platters cooked in wood ovens, is similarly “humble” but reveals a great depth and thoughtfulness. And with four floors, including an attic terrace, you’ll just have to keep coming back to check it all out. See more here.
๐You’ll find Gold at 95-97 Portobello Road, W11 2QB.
๐ Nearest stations are Bayswater and Queensway.
42. Riviera, St James’s
By day and by night, Riviera is a feast for the eyes and is dreamy as dreamy gets as far as London restaurants go. A French haven filled with natural textures bringing the warmth of Southern France, towering windows to bathe the dining room in sunlight or look out onto the streets of St James’s as it glows in the evening light – there is plenty of wow factor to be had at this Mediterranean dining spot. Traditional French cuisine is on the menu at Riviera, with highlights including the hamachi carpaccio, the native lobster spaghetti, the grilled lamb cutlets, and the black truffle slow-cooked baby chicken.
The cocktail menu is not to be missed, particularly for those with a sweet tooth, featuring tipples like Peach Caviar with sublime flavours of peach, vanilla and apricot, and Coconut Breeze which is made with gin-infused butterfly pea tea, coconut rum, coconut water, cacao blanc, and lime and tonic water. It’s an absolute dream.
๐ You’ll find Riviera at 23 St James’s Street, St. James’s, SW1A 1HA.
๐ Nearest station is Green Park.
43. Yasmin, Soho
One of the most celebrated 2024 openings to hit Soho is also one of its prettiest. Yasmin is a hidden rooftop gem in Soho, with a wrap-around terrace, stunning interiors, and delectable food. It’s just the spot to relax with friends, order a few sharing platters of Middle Eastern food, and sip at sundowner cocktails. Six floors above the busy streets of Soho, life is good in one of London’s prettiest restaurants.
๐ Sixth floor of 1 Warwick, 1 Warwick Street, Soho, W1B 5LR.
๐ Nearest station is Piccadilly Circus.
44. Los Mochis, London City
Now, Los Mochis is already the stuff of legend for their Notting Hill restaurant (and the mini attached omakase restaurant with just six seats). But the opening of their latest restaurant has seen them leaping to the top of the ‘must-try’ list for every foodie in town – both for the Japanese-Mexican cuisine and the to-die-for aesthetics around every corner.
The restaurant covers a whopping 14,000 square feet and boasts an enormous 9th-floor rooftop terrace, a main dining space, two intimate private dining rooms, a sushi bar, a wine and sake room, and an Agaveria. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to get up from your table and wander around, to see everything it has to offer. Read all about it here.
๐ 9th Floor, 100 Liverpool Street, EC2M 2AT.
๐ Nearest station is Liverpool Street.
45. Elis, Bethnal Green
When it comes to London’s prettiest restaurants, there are basically two modes of operation. They can either scream at you “look at me, I’m stunning”, or they can slink their way into your mind as you keep looking up from your meal to think “geez, it really is quite stunning in here.” Elis is the latter, with a sophisticated yet welcoming interior. Walk in and you’re greeted with an eclectic selection of light fixtures and funky-patterned banquette seating. But take a seat and you’ll start to notice the little touches that bring the room together: intimate peeks into someone’s life, vinyl records, and photographs. The food is a wonderful mix of Brazilian and Italian dishes, and the interiors complement it wonderfully without detracting. Read all about it here.
๐ 1st floor, Town Hall Hotel, 8 Patriot Square, E2 9NF.
๐ Nearest stations are Cambridge Heath and Bethnal Green.
