For the ultimate yolk porn, Brother Marcus is your guy.
If you’ve not heard of Brother Marcus yet, you ought to be grateful that you’re here. This place will—and I don’t use this phrase lightly—completely change your life. Perhaps not in a hugely profound way, but certainly in the way that it will ruin all subsequent brunches for you forever. At least that’s what happened to me.
Already known for their mind-blowing brunch dishes, Brother Marcus has been on our breakfast bucket list for quite some time. A huge hit in both Balham and Angel, they’ve recently launched their third and largest branch in London’s iconic Spitalfields Market — and it’s an absolute treat.

In amongst twinkly, plant-filled interiors, you can tuck into all of their signature dishes — including the Step Sister with sweet potato, courgette and feta fritters, avocado and kale, turmeric yoghurt and a poached egg, or the Brother Special with beetroot cured salmon, scrambled eggs and a chargrilled tenderstem broccoli on sourdough.
Drinks range from virgin to very not, with a Brother Mary made with ouzo and Aleppo chilli, a selection of fresh smoothies and juices, and a lovely non-alcoholic spritz called the Barberry Tonic, made with cucumber, mint, sage syrup and zaatar. I recommend the watermelon and mint juice — an absolute must for any summer session.

Stick around for dinner for a selection of delightful small plates, boasting brilliant Mediterranean flavours. Highlights include the octopus with shaved fennel, torched orange and chorizo mayo, and the burnt aubergine with tahini, fermented mango and a 62 degree egg.
