Avocado sorbet is this summer’s must-have ice-cream.
What, you thought we were done with the avocado craze? Oh, my sweet summer child, you thought wrong. Avocados are back with a vengeance (not that they were ever gone, of course), and this time they’ve found their way into ice cream. London gelateria Gelupo has taken the most millennial of fruit and whipped it up in to a refreshing avocado sorbet. Even better, they’re serving it to the great and good of the capital from today.
They’ve clearly been keeping an canny eye on the weather, because avocado sorbet is dropping just in time for this week’s heatwave. So you’ll be able to cool down whilst also being exquisitely on trend. I’ll point out the obvious though: if you spend too long Instagramming it with hashtags like #summervibes and #cleaneats, the damn thing’s going to melt.
If you fancy a taste, the avocado sorbet will set you back £3. You can find it in Gelupo’s Soho store, from today until the end of May. Should you want to rebel against the nefarious avocado hegemony, or simply don’t like avocados (gasp!), Gelupo are serving other springtime flavours, including strawberry and rose pepper sorbet, or the provocative chocolate, tomato, and basil sorbet. But with the avocado sorbet, Gelupo has clearly found the siren song for millennials. Will you answer the call?
Find it at 7 Archer Street, Soho, W1D 7AU. Nearest station is Piccadilly Circus.
