These streets aren’t paved with gold, but they’ve got enough colour, charm, and cuteness to satisfy you. Get your Google Maps out and start hunting down London’s prettiest streets!
1. Chalcot Crescent
Curves are beautiful, and this one is the prettiest of the lot. The belle of Primrose Hill, Chalcot Crescent is perfect in shades of pastel, and should be prettifying your Instagram in no time!
Stick NW1 8YD into your Google Maps to find it. Nearest station is Chalk Farm.
2. Bywater Street
This Chelsea street is definitely where we’d buy a house if we won the jackpot. Just off the King’s Road? A 10 minute stroll to Sloane Square? Bywater Street really is excellent for the aspiring Sloane Rangers amongst you.
SW3 4XD is the address you need. Nearest station is Sloane Square.
3. Conduit Mews
Nestled just moments away from Paddington Station, this oasis of calm is just a taster of mews yet to come. Call it an amews-bouche, if you will.
Find it at W2 3RE. Nearest station is Paddington.
4. Bathurst Mews
Greenery is great for the ‘gram! Bathurst Mews is more about petunias than paint, and has also hosted a working stables since 1835 – so if you’re looking for a canter around nearby Hyde Park, this is your spot.
Trot or gallop along to W2 2SB to find it. Nearest stations are Paddington & Lancaster Gate.
5. Ennismore Mews
A sleepy little escape from the hustle and bustle of Knightsbridge, Ennismore Mews looks more like a street in a quaint country village than a spot in central London. Be sure to check out nearby Ennismore Gardens Mews, which are equally gorgeous.
SW7 1AP is the postcode you’ll need. Nearest station is Knightsbridge.
6. Holland Park Mews
These mews are accessed via an ornate stone archway, so that’s one point in their favour. Secondly, they’re obviously gorgeous. And third, they’re a stone’s throw from Holland Park and the beautiful Kyoto Garden. Utterly magnificent mews, in our book.
Mosey on down to W11 3SP for a glimpse. Nearest station is Holland Park.
7. Kelly Street
There’s been a lot of west London so far, so let’s mix it up with the pride of Kentish Town. Lots of shades to choose from here, all you need now is the budget to afford one…
Doesn’t hurt to look – head to NW1 8PG for a browse. Nearest station is Kentish Town West.
8. Hillgate Street
Mo’ pastels, mo’ problems. Namely, a horde of eager Instagrammers wandering up and down your road all weekend. Still, it’s a small price to pay to live somewhere so pretty.
This pastel paradise is at W8 7SR. Nearest station is Notting Hill Gate.
9. Neal’s Yard
It’s stretching the definition of ‘streets’, but Neal’s Yard is a wonderfully colourful spot. Oh, and unlike most of the others on this list, it’s also a top spot for lunch. Delicious views and delicious food – isn’t that just the dream?
See it at WC2H 9PJ. Nearest station is Covent Garden.
10. Lancaster Road
Amongst the most famous of London’s prettiest streets, is this one. Lancaster Road is another rainbow-coloured Notting Hill beauty, and it’s captured the hearts of many a wanderer. Hint: the famous bit is between Basing Street and All Saints Road.
W11 1QU is the address you’ll be needing. Nearest station is Ladbroke Grove.
11. Kendrick Mews & Reece Mews
Two mews for the price of one! These adjoining streets are both beauts – plus, there’s a rather striking bit of alpine street art straddling the two, making this an a-mews-ing spot to visit.
A little off-piste, you’ll find these at SW7 3HG. Nearest station is South Kensington.
12. Kynance Mews
Dreamy. Really, that’s the only word we need to use here. Kynance Mews is a jaw-droppingly pretty place, where wisteria hangs lazily in the spring, and red leaves blanket the houses in autumn. Serious street porn is to be found here.
Fall in love with these mews at SW7 4QR. Nearest station is Gloucester Road.
13. Hartland Road
You’ll have to brave the hustle and bustle of Camden to find it, but Hartland Road is worth it. Being a stone’s throw from Secret London HQ, it’s also a nice spot for a lunchtime wander when the sun shines.
Spot these houses at NW1 8DB. Nearest stations are Kentish Town West and Chalk Farm.
14. Warren Mews
Inside the mews, there’s the usual pretty houses, greenery, and the cobbled street. But you’d never know that from Instagram, where all the pictures are of this stunning entrance. Which is also the reason it’s easily London’s most-Instagrammed mews. Bonus points if you snap a picture with the bikes.
Marvel at these mews at W1T 6AN. Nearest station is Great Portland Street.
