Se há uma coisa com que podemos sempre contar em Londres é que há sempre novos restaurantes e bares para experimentar. Por vezes, parece que não se pode passar duas vezes por uma rua sem ver um novo restaurante, charcutaria ou café a abrir, como se surgisse do nada! E claro, agora que estamos em setembro, parece que 2024 está a chegar ao fim, mas ainda há muitas aberturas para ver! Aqui estão os novos restaurantes que temos na nossa lista de “visitas obrigatórias” para o resto do ano.
Novos restaurantes a abrir em setembro

The Barbary Notting Hill
🍽️ O que é? comida inspirada nas “cozinhas e países da Costa da Barbária, do Sul da Europa ao Norte de África”.
🧑🍳 Quem é? este é o segundo local da mesma equipa que criou o The Barbary em Covent Garden.
O que pedir? Estamos de olho no polvo no espeto da foto acima – bem como no merguez caseiro, nos pães achatados sazonais e nos espetos crocantes de barriga de porco.

🍽️ O que é? Um novo restaurante e bar de vinhos em Hackney, que ocupa o lugar do adorado Pidgin.
🧑🍳 Quem é? O Sesta está a ser dirigido pelo antigo chefe de cozinha do Pidgin, Drew Snaith, e pela antiga diretora-geral, Hannah Kowalski.
O que pedir: o menu à la carte muda com as estações do ano, mas os pratos actuais que nos intrigam incluem a enguia fumada e a quiche de lovage, o frango grelhado lentamente recheado com salsicha Morteau e o pudim de arroz gelado Brulee. E, obviamente, não pode faltar o vinho…

🍽️ O que é? O primeiro local em Londres para o lendário conceito yakiniku com estrela Michelin (carne grelhada no carvão e cerveja).

O que pedir? o foco é o wagyu, por isso certifique-se de que pede bastante!

🧑🍳 Quem é? A cadeia internacional de hambúrgueres já é muito apreciada em França.

🍽️ O que é? um bar de cocktails speakeasy ligado ao mais recente restaurante Kricket.
🧑🍳 Quem é? é a segunda localização do SOMA, com base no sucesso da localização anterior no Soho, da equipa por detrás do Kricket.

🍽️ O que é? Uma nova padaria “que mistura a pastelaria francesa clássica com sabores britânicos” que ocupará o local do Empire Empire todas as manhãs.
🧑🍳 Quem é? Moi et Toi é uma colaboração entre Harneet Baweja, o fundador do Gunpowder Group e do Empire Empire, e o chef e restaurador Edward Delling Williams, fundador do Le Grand Bain em Paris.
O que pedir? Mal podemos esperar para experimentar o pain au chocolat de manteiga de amendoim e o pastel de nata earl grey. Mas tudo parece DELICIOSO, para ser sincero.

🍽️ O que é? Um bar Pintxo inspirado em San Sebastian que ocupará a loja da Provisions em Holloway Road todas as quintas, sextas e sábados à noite.
🧑🍳 Quem é? O Topa é cortesia de Simon Shand, que foi anteriormente o Chefe de Cozinha do restaurante Leroy, com estrela Michelin, em Shoreditch.
O que pedir? Peça uma variedade de pequenos pratos para petiscar, como o chouriço cozinhado em cidra e o Gildas, e acompanhe tudo com um ou três copos de vinho.

🧑🍳 Quem é? Wildflowers é o primeiro empreendimento a solo do Chef Aaron Potter, anteriormente dos restaurantes Trinity e Elystan Street, com estrelas Michelin, em Londres, entre outros.

🧑🍳 Quem é? O Chef Diretor Gustavo Diallionardo fica com a equipa, após a sua passagem pelo PRELUDE by Oriole pop-up, para cozinhar comida latino-americana inspirada. O Diretor do Bar, Samet Ali, irá servir um menu de cocktails inspirado nos pássaros oriole homónimos do bar.

O que pedir: entre no conceito de “clássicos esquecidos” com o Chicken Fried John Dory, o Beer Battered Cockles e o Potted Mushroom.

🧑🍳 Quem é? Fundado por Irina Linovich, o chef executivo Daniel Watkins (do Acme Fire Cult) é o homem por detrás dos menus. Os cocktails foram concebidos em parceria com o aclamado Bar With Shapes For A Name.

O que pedir? Dawei Mohinga é uma versão regional da sopa de macarrão de peixe birmanesa que não deve ser perdida. Os fãs de martini sujo vão querer experimentar o martini de óleo de chá em conserva.

🍽️ O que é? Um novo restaurante casual que traz “o melhor da cozinha do Bangladesh a um público londrino”.
🧑🍳 Quem é? Erm… não temos a certeza… Não conseguimos encontrar nenhuma informação sobre eles!
O que pedir? O foco do Dhakaah é a comida de rua e os pratos especiais do Bangladesh, por isso opte pelo Fuchka – uma versão bangladesh do Pani Puri recheado com uma mistura de batata e grão-de-bico condimentada – e pelo Beef Kathi, “um caril de carne de vaca mezbani fortemente condimentado, envolto em parota artesanal”.

🍽️ O que é? o segundo restaurante dos fundadores do Kolamba, que apresenta a sua versão moderna da cozinha caseira do Sri Lanka com um menu totalmente novo.
🧑🍳 Quem é? a mesma equipa por trás do Kolamba no Soho, cuja comida foi inspirada nos “livros de receitas de amigos e familiares em Colombo”.
O que pedir? Comece com o Mas Paan – pãezinhos recheados com caril de porco preto – antes de partilhar a porção festiva do Moor King Prawn String Hopper Biryani. Enquanto come, beba o Curry Leaf Gimlet, um cocktail clarificado de gin lavado com curry ghee e lima.

El Cenote
🍽️ O que é? O mais recente restaurante e bar mexicano de Camden, com uma impressionante seleção de mezcal, tequila e cocktails.
🧑🍳 Quem é? O chef Daniel Sanches é natural da Cidade do México e já trabalhou em restaurantes como o Ella Canta. Aima Indigo dirige o bar, onde o menu de cocktails se baseia na sua herança de Veracruz.
O que pedir? Se não consegue mesmo decidir, opte pela Parrillada Cielo, Mar Y Tierra – uma travessa de carne de vaca, camarão, frango e chouriço servida com tortilhas e uma variedade de coberturas. Se for terça-feira, aproveite a oferta da Taco Tuesday, em que o preço é de 2 por 1 durante todo o dia.

Café Petiole
🍽️ O que é? Um café maioritariamente vegan escondido na Somerset House.
🧑🍳 Quem é? O Café Petiole vem do Chef Rishim Sachdeva, o chef por trás do sofisticado (também principalmente vegano) restaurante Mayfair, Tendril.
O que pedir? Para o almoço, um sabich de beringela grelhada com focaccia tabbouleh e a salada de brócolos grelhados com malagueta e massa de arroz . Ou então tome um café e escolha a sua pastelaria. Estamos indecisos entre a galette de ananás e ababka de laranja e canela. (Realisticamente, vamos pedir os dois…)

🍽️ O que é? Um novo conceito de hambúrguer smash com luxuosos hambúrgueres de carne de vaca wagyu
🧑🍳 Quem é? 5 amigos (amigos… não rapazes…) juntaram-se para criar o novo conceito de hambúrguer. O Chef Mark Morrans tem uma experiência impressionante na criação de hambúrgueres de alta qualidade para todo o tipo de estabelecimentos e restaurantes de luxo em todo o mundo.
O que pedir? Tem de pedir o titular Wagyu House SMSH BN… Sem “se”, “e” ou “mas”. A menos que você seja vegano, nesse caso, opte pelo Vegan SMSH BN.

🍽️ O que é? Cocktails de classe mundial e tacos com recheios de influência asiática.
🧑🍳 Quem é? a mesma equipa por trás do Victory Mansions, que anteriormente ocupava o local, trouxe-nos o novo empreendimento.
O que pedir? os tacos… obviamente… Não perca também as viciantes batatas fritas ‘MSG’,

Agora & Oma
🍽️ O que é? Uma dupla de restaurantes sob o mesmo teto, um que se estende até ao Borough Market (Agora), o outro escondido no andar de cima. Ambos foram inspirados nas ilhas gregas e em refeições em tabernas locais na Grécia. O Agora é exclusivamente para visitas, enquanto o Oma aceita reservas.
🧑🍳 Quem é? Um verdadeiro “quem é quem” da cena gastronómica e de criação de Londres. Os talentos culinários e a equipa fundadora vêm de empresas como Manteca, Kiln, Smokestak, entre outras, com o pão supervisionado pelo ex-padeiro chefe do E5, Eyal Schwartz, e uma equipa internacional de colaboradores que trabalham em todo o restaurante.
O que pedir? Se estiver no Agora, comece com o pão achatado, peça algumas pastas (não pule o hummus) e um de cada espeto (você tem que experimentar todos eles) antes de se estabelecer com o grão-de-bico cozido lentamente, o pão achatado ‘spanokopita’, o cordeiro adana (essencialmente um kebab de carne picada de cordeiro) e o porco rotisseriado. Se estiver no Oma, não temos nenhum conselho para si – exceto pedir muito.

🍽️ O que é? Uma residência no mercado de Peckham que se transformou num restaurante de tijolo e argamassa, celebrando a profundidade e a possibilidade da comida malaia.
🧑🍳 Quem é? A chef Abby Lee é facilmente uma das chefs mais empolgantes que trabalham atualmente em Londres
O que pedir? Quão faminto você está? Porque eu quero dizer-vos para trazerem amigos e pedirem o menu completo… Façam o que fizerem, não percam o Double-Roasted Pork ou o Kay Pachok (espetos de coxa e coração de frango grelhado).

The River Cafe Café
🍽️ O que é? O icónico restaurante River Cafe tem sido um dos pilares da cena gastronómica de Londres desde 1987 – e esta é a sua primeira nova abertura. Os hóspedes podem relaxar e desfrutar de uma pastelaria ou de um aperitivo com vista, no café e terraço mais informal (e acessível), que está situado mesmo ao lado do restaurante.

🍽️ O que é? O antigo pop-up ganha uma segunda vida, celebrando pratos menos conhecidos e difíceis de encontrar que os singapurenses adoram.
🧑🍳 Quem é? A pop-up que primeiro deu vida ao Singapulah foi também o início da adorada padaria Arôme de Londres.
O que pedir? Desfrute de um delicioso Laksa de Singapura, e não se esqueça de pegar em alguns Fried Chilli Crab Bao e Sambal Fishball Skewers para começar.

🍽️ O que é? um novo restaurante que celebra os sabores e as especiarias da Tailândia, escondido por baixo do KOYN Japanese.
🧑🍳 Quem é? O restaurador Samyukta Nair abriu o local com a Chef Rose Chalalai Singh, que está a combinar a sua educação em Banguecoque com o seu tempo em Paris, onde geriu o seu café de estilo tailandês, Rose Kitchen.
O que pedir? O menu muda frequentemente, mas se estiver disponível, não perca o Chian Mai Platter com relish de capsicum assado, carne de porco estaladiça, salsicha de porco caseira com especiarias do norte e arroz pegajoso.

🍽️ O que é? Um restaurante com preocupações ambientais que tem vindo a tomar Hackney de assalto com um menu excitante que se inspira em todo o mundo.
🧑🍳 Quem é? O Sune combina a experiência em vinhos da sommelier Honey Spencer com a experiência em Noma do sócio Charlie Sims.
O que pedir? O menu muda frequentemente, mas os sucessos recentes incluem o porco, camarão e erva-limão, os hambúrgueres de pão doce e as batatas grelhadas com molho de manteiga castanha (ver acima).

O Chef Executivo Leonard Tanyag chega à cidade de Los Mochis vindo do Nobu.

🍽️ O que é? July é um novo bar de vinhos e restaurante da Alsácia, aberto todo o dia, inspirado na educação dos fundadores em França e na Alemanha. O local passa do café e pastelaria da manhã para menus de almoço e jantar sazonais e em constante mudança.
🧑🍳 Quem é? A cozinha está a ser chefiada por Holly Hayes, que vem para o local do muito amado 40 Maltby Street.
O que pedir? Estamos particularmente entusiasmados por experimentar a oferta de almoço de domingo em estilo familiar, que traz a tradição francesa para Londres sob a forma de frango assado Fosse Meadows com maionese caseira.

🧑🍳 Quem é? Os irmãos nascidos em Nápoles, a chef Arianna e o restaurador Giovanni Izzo, trazem uma riqueza de experiência e conhecimento e uma busca dedicada à pizza napolitana perfeita.
O que pedir? Esta pizzaria tem um menu fixo, permitindo-lhe experimentar uma fatia de cada cobertura de pizza artesanal acompanhada de cocktails.

Three Sheets Soho
🍽️ O que é? O lendário bar de Dalston abriu um segundo local com o mesmo nome no Soho.
🧑🍳 Quem é? Os irmãos Noel e Max Venning também são proprietários e gerem um bar no norte de Londres, o Little Mercies. O local do Three Sheets em Dalston ocupa atualmente a sétima posição na recente lista dos 50 melhores bares de cocktails do Reino Unido.
O que pedir? Eles têm a maioria dos clássicos e algumas de suas próprias ofertas. As novas bebidas incluem o Mango Ice Tea (manga em conserva, rum e uma mistura de chás) e o Scottish Coffee (scotch com manteiga, café salgado e creme de shortbread).

Grande Noite
🍽️ O que é? Comida em palitos, acompanhamentos mais saborosos e bebidas em abundância. Inspirado nos yakitori izakayas, mas decididamente não japonês, o Big Night é um local cheio de boas vibrações, boa bebida e boa comida britânica (em palitos).
🧑🍳 Quem é? A dupla por detrás da abertura, Jack O’Connor e Joshua Ralphs, conheceu-se no Larrys de Peckahm, enquanto Jack era chefe de cozinha. Entre eles, eles também trabalharam em empresas como Flor, Lasdun e Jolene.
O que pedir? Tanto quanto possível, francamente – estamos ansiosos para experimentar os corações de cordeiro, o kimchi sazonal e o miso banoffee. E algumas fotos de acompanhamento!

🧑🍳 Quem é? Bruno é o projeto de paixão do proprietário Michael Sager – talvez conheça o seu nome dos bares de vinho Sager + Wilde, que mudaram o jogo, e do bar Equal Parts de Hackney.

Novos restaurantes a abrir ainda este ano
Naturalmente, há muitos outros novos restaurantes que abrirão até o final de 2024. Aqui estão algumas das principais aberturas a serem observadas ao planejar suas próximas refeições este ano.
The Blue Stoops (Kensington) – um novo pub da equipe por trás da Allsopp’s Brewery, que inventou a India Pale Ale (IPA), abre em 19 de outubro.
Undercroft (Mayfair) – O Chef Brad Carter e Martin Priestnall vão abrir um restaurante na cripta da Igreja de São Jorge, com ênfase na comida, música e arte.
Long Chim (Soho) – David Thompson vai trazer os sabores da Banguecoque moderna para Londres com uma residência no Hovarda, que deverá abrir em outubro.
Mayfair Chippy Knightsbridge – O Mayfair Chippy vai abrir um novo espaço em novembro, com o primeiro menu de pequeno-almoço do grupo.
