In the early hours of Thursday morning, one unfortunate Londoner woke up to the sight of his brother’s car being dragged down a sinkhole in Greenwich. Despite the seemingly shocking scene, Abdul Ahmadzai (the brother of Ghazi Hassan who owned the car), took a laid-back, nonchalant approach to it all.
Mr Ahmadzai said he woke up at 4am. Saw the car. Saw the hole. Went back to sleep. “Nothing I could do” he tells @PA.

If we woke up at 4 in the morning to see our car making its way into the depths of the earth, we’re pretty sure we’d just go back to sleep too. In London sleep is precious, while cars are, perhaps, unnecessary. Our thoughts do go out to Mr Hassan and his gobbled up car. Apparently, the only thing keeping it slightly above the ground was a pipe. Emergency services are currently working on the area in Greenwich and are keeping residences updated.
