It’s UK Coffee Week and oh my, do us Londoners love a good cup of the strong stuff. But it’s the latte art, coloured coffee and strange powders that have taken London’s coffee scene by storm, so here’s a little roundup of some of the capital’s most prettiest (and totally instagrammable) cups of coffee.
1. Palm Vaults
If you’re a lover of all things pastel coloured and tropical, you’ll love Palm Vaults. This Wes Anderson-esque coffee shop serves up quirky and interesting cups of red velvet lattes (made with beetroot, not cupcakes), avocado iced coffee frappes and lavender lattes. The menu changes weekly, depending on the ingredients they can get their hands on and they have an extensive list of non-dairy milk options too so get combining at “London’s most instagrammable café”.
411 Mare St, London E8 1HY
2. AIDA Coffee
This coffee shop serves up some of the prettiest pink coloured concoctions we’ve ever seen and is purely down to the rose they use in their lattes. Sounds weird but it forms part of their speciality menu where they also offer wonder drinks such as matcha, sunshine and chai beverages.
133 Shoreditch High Street, Shoreditch, East London, E1 6JE
3. Tsujiri
One for the matcha or cute animal lovers in all of us, this matcha house in London serves up big bowls of the green stuff. But it’s their flare for adding cute bear faces or other adorable images that have earned them a small army of followers. They also serve up tempting looking sundaes and ice cream cones, yum.
47 Rupert St, Soho, London W1D 7PD
4. Nama foods
This vegan restaurant serves up some interesting meals and as nothing is treated above 46°C, this restaurant is technically raw. They have an extensive list of drinks, juices and smoothies but they also offer ‘Nama Signatures’ such as a Superfood Latte made with vanilla and medicinal mushrooms. One of their bestsellers is their Golden Latte made with turmeric which is known for its benefits to skin, digestion and liver health.
110 Talbot Road, W11 1JR, London
5. Hally’s
This Californian-inspired café serves up healthy and organic food but it’s their ventures into the latte art game that have got us all hot under the coffee cup sleeve. As well as serving up beautifully topped cups of regular cappuccino, these guys are also creators of a fine turmeric or beetroot latte. Get ready for those #matchamonday or #turmerictuesday shots you’re bound to take.
60 New Kings Road, London, SW6 4LS
6. Peggy Porschen
Voted as having “the best cupcakes in the world”, this parlour also serves some seriously pretty cups of hot chocolate and coffee. Using a selection of stencils, you can expect your cappuccino to be topped with polka dot designs one day or a big set of kissing lips the next. You may as well indulge in a little cake whilst you’re here too, it would be a shame not to.
