Bowie Fans Are Hoping To Get A Giant Lightning Bolt Memorial In Brixton

A team of Brixton residents and Bowie obsessives have started a campaign to install a giant Aladdin Sane-esque lightning bolt, just a few streets away from Bowie’s birthplace on Stansfield Road. It’ll be a massive three-storey high stainless steel structure, and will be the first thing people see as they walk out of Brixton tube station. If the plans go ahead, it will be a fitting tribute to a man who quite literally changed the world.

The crowdfunding campaign is hoping to raise £990,000 for the sculpture, and they’ve already gathered over £30,000 so far. Help them smash their target by making a donation here.
