There’s nothing worse than that fateful question, ‘So what are you doing for New Years?’; especially when it comes post-xmas, and you still don’t have an answer. Whilst we know party planning is probably the last thing on your mind at the moment (you’ve got Christmas shopping on Oxford St to contend with first and awkward office parties to endure), why make things harder than they need to be? For the first time in your life, listen to your mother and do a bit of planning ahead, with the help of Secret London, of course. Over the next month we’ll be giving you some great options for New Year’s Eve nights out, aiming to have you 2016-ready before you’ve even opened the first window of your advent calendar. We’re organised like that, you see.
So without further ado, here’s our Option #1.
New Year’s Eve Party on the Thames
If you really want to push the boat out this year (no pun intended), the Docklands Riverside DoubleTree Hotel is throwing a lavish evening of entertainment, which includes an exclusive boat trip along the Thames, giving you the best view of the fireworks in the city.
The night will kick off with champagne and canapés at the Columbia restaurant, which has a pretty impressive riverside terrace boasting astonishing views of the city. You’ll then be wined and dined by the head chef, who has created a special four course gourmet meal that is sure to stun your senses (we’ve heard rumours of caviar and beef fillet and we’re already dribbling).
Live music will play throughout the night for anyone who wants a boogie and then, as the clock hand nears 12, you’ll be whisked off on an exclusive boat trip down the Thames, where you’ll have front row seats to London’s iconic Firework Display over Westminster. Forget the hordes of people on Southbank and have a 007 moment instead, with a glass of champers in hand and a loved one on your arm. Because queueing is just soooo 2015.
With tickets costing £249 per person, it’s certainly a bit of a splash-out affair but if you really want a night to remember, something tells us this one is set to be a special one.
Tickets will sell out fast but Fever users can purchase theirs well ahead of the crowds by downloading the app. No faffing, no paper, no trying to find a printer. And definitely no last minute panics.
Now there’s a plan for a happy New Year.
