Espetaculares Snowdrops
Infelizmente, por esta altura, já perdeu a oportunidade de ver estas flores. Mas, tendo em conta o tempo, é possível que ainda haja alguns pendões que se inclinam corajosamente e posam para uma fotografia. Mas se está a ler este guia de flores para olhar com expetativa para o que está para vir, esteja atento a elas nas últimas semanas de inverno. Estas flores deliciosas e agrupadas são das primeiras a levantar a cabeça (descaída) quando chega o novo ano e inspiram sempre muita alegria.
Quando: Os Snowdrops, apesar de parecerem bastante frágeis, são uma flor bastante resistente e podem ser encontrados entre janeiro e março. São sempre um sinal bem-vindo da chegada iminente da primavera.
Onde: O local mais popular para as ver é, sem dúvida, o Chelsea Physic Garden, que organiza um festival anual de flocos de neve, onde os visitantes podem encontrar uma série de variedades de flocos de neve a crescer nos jardins e nos vasos. É uma visão maravilhosa quando centenas de milhares de snowdrops cobrem os jardins. Os snowdrops também podem ser encontrados em todo o Osterley Park, e não perca a incrível exposição de snowdrops dos Kew Gardens. Mas são muito fáceis de encontrar, particularmente em bosques e prados, por isso, dê um passeio e é provável que tropece nalgumas!
Narcisos arrojados
Inspiraram Wordsworth para uma grande poesia, mas se não conseguir escrever um verso ou dois, pelo menos arranje uma hashtag espirituosa. É o mínimo que pode fazer depois de eles terem feito todo o esforço para aparecer.
Quando: Os narcisos estão no seu período de floração máxima em março e abril.
Onde: Os Parques Reais plantam um milhão de bolbos de narciso nos seus jardins todos os anos, e o St James’s Park recebe a maior parte deles. Mas a exposição do Hampton Court Palace também não é nada má! Também os encontrará em Kensington Gard ens, Victoria Embankment Gard ens e, sem surpresa, em Kew Gardens.
Lindas campainhas azuis
Tenho uma relação de amor e ódio com as campainhas azuis de Londres. Por um lado, são ridiculamente bonitas. Por outro lado, cresci numa aldeia onde as campânulas eram a principal atração turística, o que significava que uma horda furiosa de “bluebell w*nkers” provocava o caos todos os fins-de-semana da primavera. Espero que as suas experiências sejam menos stressantes. Não é que eu esteja a guardar rancor ou algo do género…
Quando: As campainhas azuis florescem normalmente entre março e maio, mas isto pode variar bastante de ano para ano.
Onde: Encontrará tapetes de campainhas azuis em praticamente todos os cantos de Londres. A oeste, a sua melhor aposta é Osterley Park, uma razão perfeita para visitar a Zona 4. A norte, Highgate Wood é o seu local de eleição, enquanto Wanstead Flats satisfará os londrinos de leste. A sul do rio? Pode visitar Oxleas Wood, ou dar um passeio rápido até à Isabella Plantation em Richmond Park.
Tulipas fantásticas
Se não conseguir ir a Amesterdão para as ver, as tulipas florescem por toda a cidade de Londres, esperando pacientemente para embelezar o seu feed do Instagram.
Quando: As tulipas estão tipicamente no auge da floração no final de abril e maio, mas as variedades de floração precoce também podem florescer já em março.
Onde: Encontrará tulipas praticamente em qualquer lugar com uma ligação real. O Palácio de Hampton Court é um bom sítio para começar, pois mantém uma bela exposição e até organiza o seu próprio festival de tulipas. Também encontrará tulipas a florescer todas as Primaveras no exterior do Palácio de Buckingham. Campos de tulipas igualmente bonitos podem ser vistos em St James’s Park, Regent’s Park, Kensington Gardens e Tulley’s Farm.
Flores de Bangin
Uma floração frustrantemente fugaz, mas o nosso guia de flores dá-lhe a oportunidade de apanhar magnólias e cerejeiras em flor antes que desapareçam.
Quando: As flores de cerejeira florescem normalmente no final de abril e início de maio, mas o tempo ameno pode fazê-las florescer logo em março. A época das magnólias é menos previsível. Mas a estrela do espetáculo é a flor de cerejeira, que fica linda em cor-de-rosa em cada primavera. O Kew Gardens é justificadamente famoso pela sua avenida de cerejeiras em flor, mas também encontrará um túnel de árvores cor-de-rosa no Greenwich Park. Flores igualmente deslumbrantes podem ser encontradas na Chester Road , em Regent’s Park, um exemplo fantástico no exterior da St Paul’s Cathedral, e a Redcliffe Road, em Chelsea, que é de cair o queixo.

As azáleas vibrantes criam uma proliferação de cor-de-rosa, o que lhe valeu um lugar bem merecido na nossa lista dos lugares mais coloridos de Londres. Os fãs de fúcsia devem ir até lá enquanto elas estão em flor.
Glicínias maravilhosas
Chamada de “a flor do homem que pensa” por um membro da equipa do Secret London, a glicínia é um grande negócio nesta cidade. Seja qual for o nome que lhe queira dar, a capital enlouquece com as glicínias todos os anos, à medida que a histeria das glicínias que tudo consome conquista corações, mentes e feeds do Instagram.
Quando: A época das glicínias em Londres ocorre normalmente no final de abril ou no início de maio, sendo que as flores só aparecem por pouco tempo depois de se desenvolverem.
Onde: Cresce praticamente em todo o lado onde não nos podemos dar ao luxo de viver, sendo Chelsea, Kensington e Notting Hill os principais locais de observação. Em particular, veja as casas ao longo de Kynance Mews (onde Joe supostamente conseguiu viver com o salário de um educador na 4ª temporada de You). Também não se esqueça de descer a Abingdon Road, Gordon Place e Cheyne Walk para tirar uma boa fotografia das glicínias. As glicínias também podem ser encontradas a cobrir a lindíssima pérgula em Hampstead Hill. Se for até lá para tirar algumas fotografias, ficará certamente satisfeito, pois é uma zona absolutamente deslumbrante de Londres!
Alfazema deliciosa
Parece um sonho e também cheira a sonho. Posar num campo de lavanda é a fotografia de perfil obrigatória do verão, e nós sabemos onde encontrar os melhores locais. Afinal, que tipo de guia de flores seria este sem um resumo dos campos de lavanda?
Quando: A lavanda floresce muitas vezes logo em maio, com mais flores em junho e depois no final do verão ou no início do outono.

Garson’s Farm, em Surrey, e Meopham, em Kent – que só está aberta aos sábados e domingos – também são óptimas apostas. Um pouco mais longe fica o The Patch MK em Milton Keynes, que também tem um comboio de barril para o levar pelos terrenos, e o Cotswold Farm Park em Gloucestershire.
