These beautiful restaurants in London are all dressed up and ready for the festive season.
We’ve often said that autumn is the prettiest month to be in London, but winter gives it a pretty good run for its money. Each year, we’re lucky enough to witness some magical shopfront makeovers and some seriously lovely Christmas lights—but here’s a list of fabulously festive restaurants to add to your ever-growing list of places to visit in December.
1. 34 Mayfair, Mayfair
Called ‘Miracle at 34’, because of course it is, this festive makeover features 14,000 decorations, including 8,400 glittering baubles covering every inch of the walls and ceilings. Take advantage of their seasonal set menu, which offers two courses for £20 or three for £25. 34 Grosvenor Square, South Audley Street, W1K 2HD.
2. Coppa Club, Tower Bridge
Coppa Club’s beautiful perspex capsules offer crystal clear views of Tower Bridge and the Shard, all while keeping your squad satisfyingly snug. They’ve once again welcomed fluffy blankets and twinkling lights, but this year they’re also throwing Champagne cocktails, candlelight and underfloor heating into the mix. 3 Three Quays Walk, Lower Thames Street, EC3R 6AH. 3. Dalloway Terrace, Fitzrovia
Dalloway Terrace is partial to a seasonal makeover, but its winter transformation is always the most eagerly awaited. This year’s whimsical wonderland has been designed by McQueens Flowers and features a gorgeous mix of white birch trees, dried Amaranthus ‘icicles’, thistles, snow-dusted foliage and more. 4. Bluebird, Chelsea
Bluebird Chelsea’s courtyard has been transformed into a magical ‘White Wonderland’ ahead of the festive season. Decorated with beautiful white branches, Christmas trees and twinkling lights, this King’s Road spot is the perfect place to enjoy a festive brunch or afternoon tea. 350 King’s Road, SW3 5UU.
5. Le Pont de la Tour, Shad Thames
Escape to Paris with Le Pont de la Tour’s gorgeous terrace transformation. Radiating Parisian vibes, this lovely Thameside restaurant is offering something really special this winter. Snuggle up in a sheepskin blanket as you sip on Champagne and browse the festive seafood menu (if you can take your eyes off the view, that is). 36D Shad Thames, SE1 2YE.
6. The Ivy Chelsea Garden, Chelsea
This ever-adorned west London spot has transformed into Santa’s Workshop for the winter. They’ve decorated their entire exterior with reindeer stables, Santa’s sleigh, a giant Christmas tree, and more. 7. Coq D’Argent, City of London
Lodge d’Argent is back for the winter, and it’s offering visitors a cosy escape from the hustle and bustle. Filled with fur and festive drinks, this alpine rooftop opens as lockdown ends on December 2. 8. Balthazar, Covent Garden
From December 2, Balthazar will reveal a wholesome transformation into a vintage toy store. As you enter the brasserie you’ll be met with giant gift boxes and beautifully wrapped presents hanging from the ceiling. 9. The Sipping Room, Canary Wharf
The Sipping Room’s cosy igloos are back, and they’re perfect for filling your face with festive food and drinks with your housemates. 10. Harry’s Dolce Vita, Knightsbridge
Bringing the Italian Alps to the heart of Knightsbridge, Harry’s Dolce Vita has transformed into a chalet-inspired escape for December. 11. ULI, Notting Hill
Not content with a tiny bit of tinsel, ULI has transformed into a winter wonderland. Sit within their beautiful heated terrace—adorned with foliage and festive baubles—and tuck into delicious Chinese, Thai, Malay and Singaporean cuisine. 5 Ladbroke Road, W11 3PA.
