Whether you’re dreaming of a steamy night in with your significant other or a hot date with a duvet, you probably wish you were staying in one of these beds tonight… you know, for the novelty of a fancy staycation and the luxury of room service.

1. The Landmark Hotel

You’ll find the Landmark hotel in that place that nobody can pronounce. It has a bunch of different restaurants and bars, but the Mirror Room and the Gazebo (pictured) are the best for drinks (IOO — ‘In Our Opinion’). The Mirror Bar is the perfect spot for a pre-dinner cocktail or a late-night drink, and regulars insist that it’s the best bar in town. The Gazebo on the other hand is great for a gourmet sandwich and a champagne cocktail, in a setting that looks somewhat misplaced in central London. Not that that’s a bad thing every now and again, amirite?

2. The Distillery

A hotel dedicated entirely to gin? There couldn’t be a better place for gin lovers to spend the night with their one true Valentine. There’s a bar/restaurant serving up incredibly fancy G&Ts and tasty tapas, a museum boasting a range of gin-related artefacts, an off-licence (way classier than it sounds), and The Ginstitute, which will give guests the opportunity to make their own blend of gin to take home, or to their bedroom on the top floor. The boutique rooms come with a fully stocked mini-bar and a handmade bespoke record player with a playlist lovingly curated by independent music and vinyl legends, Rough Trade. Book us in.

3. Shangri La

Take a bath while you stare out at Tower Bridge, take a dip in the pool while you admire St Paul’s, or watch the sunset over the Thames as you sip on champagne. We can’t think of a much better place to fall asleep.

4. The Zetter

A Victorian warehouse turned trendy hotel, The Zetter is the perfect place for a romantic evening. We also recommend visiting the Club Zetter Wine Room for, well, wine.

St John’s Square, 86-88 Clerkenwell Rd, EC1M 5RJ

5. The Savoy

It’s the one you’ve all heard of, and for bloody good reason. Enjoy a room with a view, book a romantic meal for two at Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill (your phone will be deposited into a little pouch until you’re done, so no distractions from staring into each others eyes), or head to The American Bar and soak up the atmosphere. (Or you could sip on one of London’s most expensive cocktails).

6. The Ned

One of the newest kids on the block, Ned has a wide range of bedrooms, each gleaming with character. Four poster beds, chandeliers and mirrors in the shape of crests? That’s royalty for you.

7. No.11 Cadogan Gardens

Built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th century, No.11 Cadogan Gardens is a marvellously regal place to rest your head.

8. The Gore Hotel

A boutique hotel in the heart of Kensington, the Gore Hotel is romantic, classy and intimate. Plus breakfast is included, so that’s an obvious selling point.

9. Georgian House Hotel

Are you still waiting for Hagrid to deliver your letter from Hogwarts? Don’t fret because there’s still hope for you in the wizarding world…. well, sort of…. this is the closest thing we’ve got. Stay in the Wizard Chambers at the Georgian House Hotel to get a taste of Hogwartian life. It’s a slightly more dignified way to feel like a wizard than running into brick walls at King’s Cross.

10. Blakes

Blakes is a stunning boutique hotel with bedrooms perfect for cosying up in, a colourful courtyard perfect for lounging (when it warms up a bit), and cocktails perfect for, er, drinking.
