Romantic hotels London

We’ve rounded up some of London’s sexiest hotels.

Whether you’re dreaming of a steamy night in with your significant other or a hot date with your duvet, you probably wish you were staying in one of these beds tonight. You know, for the novelty of a fancy staycation, the luxury of room service and — if you usually live with flatmates/family/kids — the, er, privacy of a hotel room. 1. The Landmark London Hotel, Marylebone

You’ll find The Landmark Hotel in that place that nobody can pronounce (Marly-bone? Marry-le-bone? Marry-le-bon?) and it boasts a bunch of amazing restaurants and bars. The Mirror Bar is the perfect spot for a pre-dinner cocktail or a late-night drink, and regulars insist that it’s the best bar in town. The Winter Garden Restaurant on the other hand (pictured) is great for a gourmet sandwich and a champagne cocktail, in a setting that looks somewhat misplaced in central London. Find it at 222 Marylebone Road, NW1 6JQ.

2. ME London, Strand

If ‘two-person shower’ doesn’t say ‘romance’ to you then, frankly, you need to reconsider your opinions. What is less romantic—though perhaps equally alluring—is the fact that the beds are so big that you’ll end up sleeping about two miles away from your S.O. There are a load of dreamy places to wine and dine within the building too, including the Radio Rooftop bar and STK, which is the perfect spot for a steaming hot date. Find ME London at Strand, WC2R 1HA.

3. The Distillery, Notting Hill

A hotel dedicated entirely to gin? There couldn’t be a better place for gin lovers to spend the night with their one true Valentine. There’s a bar/restaurant serving up incredibly fancy G&Ts and tasty tapas, a museum boasting a range of gin-related artefacts, an off-licence (way classier than it sounds), and The Ginstitute, which gives guests the opportunity to make their own blend of gin to take home, or to their bedroom on the top floor. The boutique rooms come with a fully stocked mini-bar and a handmade bespoke record player with a playlist lovingly curated by independent music and vinyl legends, Rough Trade. Find it at 186 Portobello Road, W11 1LA.

4. Shangri La, London Bridge

Take a bath while you stare out at Tower Bridge, take a dip in the pool while you admire St Paul’s, or watch the sunset over the Thames as you sip on champagne. We can’t think of a much better place to spend the night. Find it at The Shard, 31 St Thomas Street, SE1 9QU.

5. The Savoy, Strand

It’s the one you’ve all heard of, and for bloody good reason. Enjoy a room with a view, book a romantic meal for two at Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill (your phone will be deposited into a little pouch until you’re done, so no distractions from staring into each others eyes), or head to The American Bar and soak up the atmosphere. (You could even sip on one of London’s most expensive cocktails). Find The Savoy along the Strand, WC2R 0EU.

6. The Ned, City

The Ned has a wide range of bedrooms, each gleaming with character. Four poster beds, chandeliers and mirrors in the shape of crests – you’ll feel like total royalty. There’s also a spa, a private member’s club and more restaurants and bars than you could count on two hands. Find The Ned at 27 Poultry, EC2R 8AJ. (Discover the new bottomless sushi brunch at The Ned.)

7. No.11 Cadogan Gardens, Chelsea

Built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th century, No.11 Cadogan Gardens is a marvellously regal place to rest your head. Find it at 11 Cadogan Gardens, Chelsea, SW3 2RJ.

8. The Gore Hotel, Kensington

A boutique hotel in the heart of Kensington, the Gore Hotel is romantic, classy and intimate. Plus breakfast is included, so that’s an obvious selling point. Find it at 190 Queen’s Gate, SW7 5EX.

9. Georgian House Hotel, Pimlico

If you’re still waiting for Hagrid to deliver your letter from Hogwarts, don’t fret because we’ve found the next best thing. Stay in the Wizard Chambers at the Georgian House Hotel to get a taste of Hogwartian life. It’s a slightly more dignified way to feel like a wizard than running into brick walls at King’s Cross. And it’s romantic how?! Well, try taking a Harry Potter fan here and I dare you to tell me it’s not. Find it at 35-39 St George’s Drive, SW1V 4DG.

10. Blakes, Kensington

Blakes is a stunning boutique hotel with bedrooms perfect for cosying up in, a colourful courtyard perfect for lounging (when it warms up a bit), and cocktails perfect for, er, drinking. They’re also serving a special Aphrodisiac Menu in their restaurant for Valentine’s. Find it at 33 Roland Gardens, SW7 3PF.
