But sky-high prices and hard-to-get-out-of contracts can often be off-putting especially in January – no wonder many of us decide against it and prefer to go running or cycling in the great outdoors instead. Luckily for us, London isn’t all about exclusive, members-only gyms for the rich and famous. Below is our pick of some of the best cheap gym memberships in London for 2025 – some even have free trials and most have no joining fees! Win, win.
1. The Gym Group

This chain has been a firm fave of this author since he arrived in London way back in 2013 – and for good reason. It’s open round-the-clock, offers monthly memberships from just £18.99 (and even less elsewhere in the country), and has free classes available with personal trainers including abs blast, legs, bums and tums and body conditioning to boot. They’ve even got off-peak monthly memberships from £10.99 in selected gyms and day passes from £6.99.
London itself currently has 60 different locations – with more planned to open in the near future – and the chain is currently offering no-joining fee for a limited time. What better reason to channel your inner Rocky Balboa than that, hey?!
