We’ve had black ice cream, but now it’s time to get a little squishy as the UK’s first black espresso mochi balls are coming to Selfridges Food Hall.
Little Moons is a cute brand with an even cuter name, and it’s sure to taste unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before. Mochi balls are pounded sticky rice balls of chewy goodness, that usually come filled with some type of bean paste or ice cream…
Little Moons have one-upped all those other bog standard balls and filled theirs with artisan ice cream and coated them with ingredients such as toasted sesame or coconut. Annnnd make way for even more mochi madness as their new flavour of Black Espresso is due to make an appearance later this month.
Your caffeine fix will be sure to be cured with what will be the UK’s first Black Espresso Shot ice cream. It’s obviously made with activated charcoal, because charcoal in food is soooo a thing right now. With an entire espresso shot worth of coffee in a ball, does this mean ice cream for breakfast is socially acceptable now?
The Little Moons pop-up will run in Selfridges Food Hall from Monday 17th July – Sunday 10th September. And of course, the new Black Espresso balls will be available.
