The tallest building in London is hosting the tallest tribute.
Yes, we’ve had a blue Wembley Arch, a blue London Eye, and a thunderous wave of applause as part of #ClapForOurCarers, but here’s the UK’s highest tribute to NHS staff. The Shard’s top levels are illuminating in blue each night, as further recognition of the Herculean effort being undertaken by our NHS to contain the spread of coronavirus and save lives. The Shard will continue to be lit blue every evening as a symbol of solidarity with NHS staff, and all key workers who are providing vital support across the UK. #ThankYouNHS pic.twitter.com/TrZO9chZBp

It’s a fitting tribute really, for no building stands higher across the land than The Shard. Having illuminated the top floors for the past few nights, the building will sport the blue glow-up for the foreseeable future – and since it’s the tallest building in town, it’s one that you’ll actually have a chance of seeing from your bedroom window.
