Contrary to popular opinion – Summer is the time for eating. Luckily for food-loving Londoners, there is ample opportunity to feast at the many markets and festivals that are dedicated to satisfying our stomachs. Whether you like a dirty street food burger or prefer nibbling on smoked salmon canapés, there is something for everyone this month.
1. Taste Of London
The huge foodie festival returns to Regent’s Park between the 15th and 19th of June, turning the green space into a fantastic wonderland for your tastebuds. Over the course of the festival you’ll be able to sample dishes from more than 40 of London’s top restaurants, see some of the UK’s hottest chefs cook up a storm, peruse some of the latest kitchen technology… oh, and did we mention eat lots of tasty things? 2. Red Market, Shoreditch
Until the 28th August, Red Gallery are running a themed market named ‘The Last Days of Shoreditch’. The market is free to enter on Thursday evenings and £5 on Friday & Saturdays. There’s a constant rotation of street food traders, kicking off with Le Bao, The Joint and Crabbie Shack. The whole site certainly looks incredible, as it’s been curated by numerous East London artists. Junkyard Golf Club have also set up a quick 9 hole golf course, so you can get your putt on and burn off some of those buns.

3. Feast @ Fitzrovia
Feast@Fitzrovia is back for its third year with an array of distinctive restaurants, chefs, cafés, bistros and bars coming together to celebrate international culinary delights. From Monday 27 June until Sunday 3 July, London will be treated to one of the most diverse offerings of gourmet menus alongside a jam-packed schedule of events that are sure to ignite appetites around the capital. Rumour has it, the festival will also involve chilli eating competitions. Get the milk ready, people!
4. Urban Food Fest
It doesn’t get more ‘Shoreditch’ than this. Watch how a local car park is transformed into a food-focused party for this weekly night market which features a revolving cast of traders. Dishes from all over the world are served from stalls and trucks with regular options including Venezuelan beef arepas, vegan hand-made pasta, Brazilian chorizo wraps, Belgian waffles and the ubiquitous (but undeniably delicious) pulled pork in a soft brioche bun.

5. Street Feast
The Street Feast gods bring their markets to multiple venues across London. There’s a huge selection of food and drink stalls at Dalston Yard, Model Market in Lewisham, Hawker House in Canada Water and Dinerama in Shoreditch. Dinerama is open from Thursday through to Sunday, from noon until late and includes stalls from Smokestak, BirdBox, Breddos, Yum Bun, Fundi, Duck’N Roll, BBQ Lab, and You Doughnut. We think it’s feeding time!
