Food enthusiasts, we have some BIG (tasty) news for you! On 14th October, Chang Sensory Trails – a multi-sensory playground of Thai flavours, music and art – is coming to London to bring you a day of sensational feasting and cultural exploration. The festival, which is brought to us by Thailand’s leading beer brand Chang (who know a thing or two about exporting wonderfully authentic flavours), will be taking over Old Spitalfields Market and filling it with the delicious smell of green curry and smoked pork ribs (to name but a few things on the menu). Our tummies are rumbling at the very thought! And guess what you hungry Londoners, it’s free and un-ticketed!
After already making its mark on Los Angeles and Singapore, this highly anticipated foodie event will be transporting the heart of Thailand to London, not just through flavour, but also through live music as well as live street art action. Chang may not be able to bring the gorgeous turquoise backdrop of Ko Phi Phi with them, but we’ll be just fine with some Somtum & Southern Style Fried Chicken with sticky rice (101 Thai Kitchen’s signature dish) and a cool beer to wash it down. The whole culinary adventure has been curated by celebrity chef and Thai Culinary Ambassador, Jet Tila, so will certainly not disappoint. Jet, an extremely high-profile and talented chef, has brought the menu to life by turning to his personal memories for inspiration; the food will bring a combination of meaningful stories to the table, as well as iconic, authentic flavours.
For Chang’s Sensory Trails, Jet will be joined by a selection of London’s finest Thai restaurants, including the likes of Patara, Charm, Thaikhun, Busaba Eathai and more, each bringing unique, authentic dishes to fill Old Spitalfields Market with wonderful flavours and smells. Chang is also giving you a chance to dine as a VIP at the Chef’s Table and try an extra-specially designed off-the-menu selection of food, cooked personally by Jet.
