Regardless of whether you can run the 100 metres under 10 seconds, sometimes we’re just too slow when it comes to buying Christmas gifts for our friends and family. But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time if you make a sprint for it now!
In July and August 2017, London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will become home to the Summer of World Athletics. It’s set to be the biggest global sporting event of the year and everyone’s invited. Over four sporting weeks, the world’s top athletes will inspire the crowds onto their feet in the iconic stadium that saw Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Jonnie Peacock sprint to international glory. This event also marks the first time that the IAAF World Championships and the World ParaAthletics Championships will be held in the same summer, in the same city – our hometown! There’ll be 245 events over 20 days of world-class sport, 3,300 athletes from all four corners of the world and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you or the lucky recipient of your present to be part of the action!
If you’re stuck on Christmas ideas (and there’s not much time left…), London 2017 are selling gift vouchers for tickets to their 2017 Championship! Tickets to the World ParaAthletics Championships start from £10 for adults and £5 for children. Tickets to the IAAF World Championships start from £20 for adults and £9.58 for kids, a price that reflect Usain Bolt’s 9.58 world record set at the 2009 IAAF World Championships. Nifty, huh?
Follow this link to get your tickets or Christmas vouchers. You’ll then receive a voucher via email. Print it off, put it in a nice envelope and stash them under the tree until the 25th Dec. Smiles all around!
