POW! Head to the Prince of Wales’ rooftop for a taste of festival fun in the city.
As temperatures start to climb, so do Londoners – ideally up the stairs to the nearest rooftop bar. And thanks to the Prince of Wales’ curvaceous terrace – home to jumping Friday and Saturday nights and sunkissed Sunday sessions – Brixton boasts one of the best in the business.
We’re getting a little ahead of ourselves: this is, in fact, a massively multi-storey pub-meets-club. On the ground floor, you’ll find a classic boozer with wood-fired pizzas and ample opportunity for chit-chat. But it’s upstairs where the vibes really take hold…
It’s here you’ll find a Rum Shack dishing out punchy cocktails, and DJs putting out joyous funk, soul, house and disco until 3am on the weekends. It’s dreamy at sunset…
…and buzzing by night!
Don’t miss: parties on the Prince of Wales rooftop
Fridays and Saturdays see special events from Byday Bynight and House of Disco, bringing together some of the scene’s most dazzling DJs for a night of roof-based rhythms. Tickets are £15 from Fever.
Meanwhile, every Sunday in summer is given over to some of the best daytime vibes south London has to offer. From 2pm – midnight you’ll enjoy setlists and their selectors dedicated to funk’n’soul, the best of disco, and Carnival-inspired mixes as we get into August. See the full schedule and grab tickets here.
Location: 467 Brixton Road, SW9 8HH. Nearest station is Brixton. See it on Google Maps.
Opening hours: seven days a week, usually 9.30am (!!) – midnight, but until 3am on Sat/Sun.
Entry: to the downstairs bar is free, even at weekends! Access to the club is ticketed (see above.)
