The platitudes just keep on rolling in for London. Back in April of this year, we were ranked the best city in Europe for 2023. Then in June we were crowned Europe’s best city for culture. And if that wasn’t enough we’ve also been recognised as the most scenic city in the world for springtime, and the best city in Europe for street art. And now we’ve only gone and done it again. London has been crowned the World’s Best City for 2024.
Yup, it truly is as simple as that. London has been ranked the best city in the world. For the ninth year in a row, the annual ranking by consultant group Resonance of the top cities on Earth has placed London at the top of the tree.
London saw off typically strong competition from the likes of Paris and New York City, which took the second and third positions respectively, to nab the top spot. Dubbed the “capital of capitals”, London has been lauded for being a hotspot of activity and its indomitable spirit.
Praise was heaped on the city for investment potential, but London was also notably championed for its cultural scene and tourist activity. And our beloved Elizabeth Line got a shout-out, with Resonance writing, “Returning transit aficionados won’t believe the direct journeys now possible across the city.”
