As a girl who grew up in Margate, I’m not wildly well-equipped to be putting my two cents in on – well… anything regarding the word ‘posh’, really. But luckily I don’t need to be, because the lovely lot over at The Times have got it covered. They recently pub-crawled their way across the capital, scouring the city’s swankiest establishments to uncover which of them are the boujiest boozers of all. So, if you are somebody who enjoys the finer things in life (no judging, here); you’ve come to the right place.
Thirteen London pubs earnt themselves a comfy place on the list (unlucky for some, but certainly not for them). Out of the thirteen, four of them are in Notting Hill (shock). The others are pretty evenly scattered around central London. And one of them only opened its doors two months ago. Pretty impressive, hey? From boozers beloved by celebrities to those serving up some of the most delicious grub in London; these are the thirteen pubs that The Times believe to be the swankiest in town.

The poshest pubs in London, according to The Times:
1. The Hart, Marylebone
2. The Devonshire, Soho
3. The Fat Badger, Notting Hill
4. The Tamil Crown, Angel
5. The Marlborough, Soho
6. The Pelican, Notting Hill
7. The Cow, Notting Hill
8. The Camberwell Arms, Camberwell
9. The Trafalgar, Chelsea
10. The Prince Arthur, Belgravia
11. The Princess Royal, Notting Hill
12. The Knave of Clubs, Shoreditch
13. The George, Fitzrovia

As you can probably see, there’s some firm favourites on the list. The Devonshire has long been drawing in a sophisticated crowd (it’s Ed Sheeran’s favourite pub for a reason, after all). And its sister venue, The Marlborough, got a well-deserved shoutout, too. The Trafalgar over in Chelsea is the first pub to open on the King’s Road in over 100 years, so it’s good to know that they’ve well-and-truly catered to their locals. And the lavish likes of The Pelican, The Camberwell Arms, and the Tamil Crown are no strangers to an accolade, having just recently been named among the best pubs in the UK by the Good Food Guide.
So, what are you waiting for, folks? Get your glad-rags on, and head to one of these charming taverns for a lovely, posh pint.
