We’re pretty fond of food festivals in this city, especially if booze is involved (which it almost always is). We’re even more fond of rooftops, for some reason presumably unrelated to our diabolical and totally unreliable weather.
Brixton Rooftop has managed to pack all of our favourite things into one evening because, on the 8th June, and for the FIRST TIME EVER, London is throwing a taco festival… on a rooftop. (Yes, we know what you’re thinking. Why on earth has it taken this long for such an event to be thrown)?
From 26th May, Brixton Rooftop will be buzzing with Cuban beach vibes; featuring golden sand, pastel-coloured beach huts and palm trees, all atop a humble and lowly carpark. But for one night only, June 8th, the roof will be raised for an evening dedicated entirely to tacos. Headlined by legendary taqueria, DEL74, taco-lovers will have their fill of tacos, tequila, frozen margaritas and Red Stripe. A £10 ticket to the Taco Festival will get you a welcome drink and a trio of tacos. Find out more and get your tickets here.
Throughout the entire summer, Brixton Rooftop (aka Brixton Beach Boulevard) will be full of Latin American fiesta vibes in the form of brass bands, dancers and cabaret performers, as well as DJs, street food, film screenings and fitness classes. They’re also throwing a big summer beach party on June 4th. You can find out more about this and get your tickets here.
