A floating wine festival will take over south London’s Tamesis Dock this September.
Hitting the Southbank on September 22nd and 23rd, Wine Over Water will be the perfect opportunity to try different wines from all over the world. [? by @racheljgladman]
Happening as part of the Totally Thames Festival this festival is certainly a Riesling to be cheerful. Discover award-winning wines from South Africa, Hungary, France, Italy, Romania, Australia, New Zealand and the UK, taste up and coming wines from volcanic islands such as Sardinia and Sicily, and try your luck at some blind tasting competitions, where you’ll have the chance to win cases of wine.
There’ll also be a delicious selection of food available to purchase throughout the event; namely the marine-themed Sailor’s Rations menu, based on historical dishes served on old British vessels.
It’s all taking place at Tamesis Dock, the barge-turned-pub that boasts incredible views across the city. You’ll catch sight of the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and Battersea Power Station, but you’ll probably spend most of the time staring at the bottom of your glass.
Location: Tamesis Dock, Albert Embankment, Lambeth, SE1 7TP. See it on Google maps.
Opening hours: Saturday 22nd or Sunday 23rd September, 11am–2pm or 2:15pm–5pm.
Entry: £25 per person. Tickets include eight tasting samples from the selection on offer. There’ll also be a chance to purchase your favourites by the glass, or order bottles to be delivered to your door at a later date.
