We’re all going on a summer holiday… in the heart of the city! This summer, Searcys restaurant is giving us a chance to experience the best of the British seaside (minus the inevitable sand-filled sandwiches and seagull attacks) at their newest seasonal pop-up. Take a ride in the high-powered lift to the 40th floor of the Gherkin, where you’ll find beach huts, deck chairs, and candy floss galore, in a stunning city setting…
[Searcys]The pop-up will be split over two floors and features the ‘Coastline’ restaurant on the 39th floor – serving up British classics – and a seaside themed beach bar on the 40th floor. While this pop-up will have all the trappings of a seaside town, expect an event that’s anything but kitsch. With a 360° view of the city and a menu created by London Michelin star chef, Barry Tonks, you can expect a seriously high-end take on the high-seas.
[Searcys]Searcys are even collaborating with Plymouth Gin and British wine brand Nyetimber to bring you an authentically English drinks menu to enjoy alongside culinary classics, such as fish and chips. A far cry from the soggy fish and chip suppers of your childhood seaside holidays!
[Searcys]As well as the restaurant menu, high-end versions of your favourite British picnic fare appear on the bar menu, so you can enjoy your sophisticated gin-based cocktails alongside a hearty pork pie with picalilli. This condiment’s not just for dads anymore!
The ‘Seaside in the sky’ pop-up is open from Monday 24th July to Friday 1st September and bookings are open from 7th June. For more information visit their website.
