Whoever said that summer bodies are made in winter obviously didn’t live in London. New Year’s resolutions exist for a reason and we can all focus on losing the additional 10-20lbs we gained over the Christmas period in January. For now, check out these seriously indulgent restaurants that will help you built up your winter coat…
1. Billy and the Chicks
It’s always a pleasure to write about a true London gem and Billy and the Chicks is definitely one of them. If you’re a fan of great beer, great food and great music, (think Biggie and Missy Elliot), then you’re sure to get egg-cited about this Soho fried chicken restaurant. With a variety of ways to eat your succulent, crispy fried chicken, (we’re talking burgers, wings, strips and pieces paired with a mouth-watering selection of sides including mac n cheese, fries and gravy), Billy and the Chicks is really clucking good!

2. Meatliquor
If you’re looking for the perfect place to indulge in all the meats (and we mean ALL THE MEATS!) this chain of London restaurants is a definite winner. Meatliquor can be described in no other way than ‘grungy chic’ with dim red lighting, wooden benches and graffiti-ed walls. As well as fantastic meat-sweats-inducing food, Meatliquor also serves extremely delicious but lethal cocktails… but what more could you expect from a restaurant who’s slogan is ‘Come Hungry, Leave Wobbly?!’ Any London carnivores NEED to give this place a try!

3. Hawksmoor
We’re really rolling with the meat theme here, but Hawksmoor is perhaps one of the best steak and seafood restaurants in London and with 5 fabulous locations to choose from you’re really spoilt for choice. Unfortunately, with great London restaurants inevitably comes great London waiting times, especially at the Seven Dials or Air Street location but fortunately Hawksmoor also offers unbelievably fancy and refreshing cocktails to keep you nice and tipsy during your wait. The food is prepared to an extremely high standard and is truly, truly delicious plus any place that serves ‘half a grilled lobster’ as an additional item is bound to make you feel classy AF.

4. Grill My Cheese
If there’s a more saliva-inducing sight than pulling apart a cheese toastie and watching that gooey, yellow goodness string between crusts then we are yet to find it, and quite frankly, we don’t want to. Self-acclaimed (and confirmed by me) as the best cheese toasties in London, Grill my Cheese has an extensive menu of wonderful grilled cheese sandwiches including the Mac Attack with mac n cheese (featured above) and Patty Melt with a burger patty inside. If cheese is bad for us then we don’t ever want to be good.

5. Ethos
Okay, you may be wondering why a vegetarian restaurant also specialising in vegan and gluten free has made it onto this indulgent list but here us out… you pay for your food by weight! That’s right, perhaps the most gluttonous of all gluttonous restaurant services: the unlimited buffet. Pile your plate high with as many delicious delights as you can and then pay for what you’ve taken. Ethos is perfect for when your body can’t handle anything fried or beefy but you still want to stuff your face because ‘the diet doesn’t start until January!’
