Not much beats a weekend mooch around a market. Whether you’re lucky enough to have something like London Fields’ Broadway Market on your doorstep, or you’re travelling to one of London’s iconic street food hubs, weekends feel purpose-built for a browse, a munch, and a drink or two. And now a new series of weekend markets is tempting us over to North East London, as Tilbury Yard announces a month of food pop-ups and unique events.
Visitors to Tilbury Yard, found under the Tilbury Road Arches, can expect a wide range of activations, with a “lineup… full of live music, DJ sets and standout event takeovers every weekend”. Starting May 8 & 9, weekly market and events will take place each Friday and Saturday throughout the month.
Said Danny Saunders, organiser of Tilbury Yard:
“We wanted to create a space that taps into the real unrefined spirit of East London. This isn’t your typical market experience; it’s a dedicated space for independent brands to push boundaries. We’ve brought together incredible food, a high-energy bar scene, and a soundtrack of emerging local talent to create a destination that feels like a genuine find every time you step beneath the arches.”
