Every so often, the food market masterminds over at London’s beloved Borough Market swing open their doors after-hours for an extra-special event. One such event is the Evening of Cheese that’s takes place every December. But the specific event that I’ll be waxing lyrical about today is a whole other kettle of fish. Literally…
Next month, fish-fanatics of the capital city can head on down to the oldest food market in town for their first ever Evening of Seafood. The event does what it says on the tin, really. It’s an evening dedicated entirely to seafood – and it’s set to be shrimp-ly fin-tastic.

Evening of Seafood
For one night only (May 20), Borough Market will be hosting a celebration of all things seafood. From fresh, line-caught fish to tasty tinned delicacies; the event will showcase the very best of seafood in all of its forms. Londoners and beyond will get the chance to taste exclusive dishes, watch live demonstrations and masterclasses, and hear directly from the market’s expert seafood traders (who will henceforth be known as a-fish-ionados) who will be sharing their skills, stories, tips and tricks.
Some of Borough Market’s delicious restaurants will be taking to the market floor for the first time ever, serving up a delicious array of dishes and small plates. There will be plenty of interactive activities taking place throughout the evening – including an oyster-shucking competition, a fish-filleting demo, and some expert Q&As. So, whether you want to learn something new, hone your skills, or just have a nosey around Borough Market after-hours; the inaugural Evening of Seafood could be just the plaice for you.
Borough Market’s Evening of Seafood will be taking place from 6.30pm-9.30pm on Wednesday, May 20. Find out more about the event and snap up a ticket here.
