It’s been a while since we’ve had a tube strike, but earlier today London Underground staff have voted to go schedule a walk out in the lead up to Christmas. The RMT transport trade union have taken this action due to concerns regarding staffing, passenger safety, overcrowding and policies. The action is said to disrupt the Piccadilly line, however other lines that could be affected are still unknown. The dates and length of the strike have also not yet been announced, but we’ll keep you posted as and when they are.
All we have to say is thank goodness for online shopping. And we’re sure that ol’ Saint Nick is pretty grateful to have his trusty troop of reindeer right now. Let’s hope they don’t go on strike this year…
In more positive underground news, the Night Tube is launching on the Northern line this Friday! Here are some places you can party into the early hours.
