Tottenham Court Road Tube Station Is FINALLY Open And It’s Looking Fresh

We were starting to worry that we were going to have to get off at Holborn for the rest of our lives… But no no, TFL have not let us down and the central line will be stopping at Tottenham Court Road from Monday. So you can forget about that ridiculous ‘Stand On Both Sides’ rule that has been introduced to Holborn and stand with your feet firmly planted on the right, back where they belong.

With a brand-spanking new glass entrance just adjacent to Centre Point and plans to introduce another entrance in the same style facing towards Oxford Street, by 2016 you’ll have three ways to get yourself down to the central line (including one by the Dominion theatre). There will also be a ticket hall FIVE TIMES larger than the original and a connection to the new Crossrail platforms.

And in case you were wondering, the famous Paolozzi mosaics have been restored and TfL will be commissioning some more artwork in the future. Is this set to be the best tube station in London? Quite possibly…
