Whilst we patiently wait for season two of the Celebrity Traitors to grace our screens this autumn, I come bearing something else that’ll hopefully help fill that gaping cloak-shaped hole in your life. The Traitors is officially being transformed into a stage show – and a whole load of information about it has just been revealed. Faithful fans of the ultimate game of deception, listen up.
The shiny new theatrical adaptation of everybody’s favourite TV show will land in London next year. ‘The Traitors – Acts of Deception’ will take to the stage of the Gillian Lynne Theatre in May, ready to serve up banishments, betrayal, and blindsiding by the turret-load.

What’s sure to be the slyest show in town comes courtesy of Studio Lambert and Neal Street Productions. And with a script written by John Finnemore (who boasts some pretty impressive radio comedy credentials) and direction from Robert Hastie (who has won multiple awards for his work); I think it’s safe to say that the stage adaptation of one of the most beloved shows on the box will be in good hands here.
So, how will the concept of The Traitors work on stage, I hear you ask? Well folks, the production will be comprised of five individual plays – each inspired by the format of the TV show. Every weekday performance will begin in the same way but end entirely differently. And whilst each of the narratives works as a stand-alone piece, they also form part of an interconnected cycle of stories. Saturday audiences will then get to choose which character becomes the traitor, thus determining the version of events they see. Sounds pretty darn intriguing, right?
Stephen Lambert from Studio Lambert said: “Each of the five plays tells a whole story on its own. But the same evening could have turned out in completely different ways, and anyone who wants to discover how is welcome to come back and find out. On the surface it is a game of paranoia and betrayal. Underneath, it is about who we really are under pressure, and the way our true colours show in the end.”
