London is a city that simply adores second-hand shopping and thrifting. And one of the most charming examples is Go East Vintage, a flea market that takes over historic buildings around the city. And this weekend, they’re crash-landing at Wapping Power Station with a truly stunning mix of history, sights, and vintage goods.
Go East Vintage is flinging open the doors to the Wapping Hydraulic Power Station once more and filling the area with vendors. Across the early May bank holiday weekend, from May 2-3, you’ll find over 70 curated vintage traders taking over the venue.

This weekend’s event follows their debut market at the site back in March, when the market welcomed 3,500 people to the venue. It marked the first time the historic building had been opened to the public in 13 years. So it’s a rare chance to explore some London history while you browse trinkets, clothes, decor, and more
Wapping Power Station
The Wapping Hydraulic Power Station was once an integral part of the network that powered Victorian London. It operated from 1890 until 1977 and “provided the energy to rotate the stages of the London Palladium, lift the curtains at the Royal Opera House, and even open the massive gates of the Thames docks.” When it closed, it was the last working station of its kind in the world.

The new flea market is a chance for new life to enter the venue. As visitors explore a curated selection of vintage homeware, furniture, and fashion, they can marvel at the site’s original 1950s pumps and towering accumulator columns.
Said the Go East Vintage team:
“After the response to our first event, bringing people back into this space for a second time feels powerful.
“This isn’t just about vintage – it’s about creating moments inside places that already hold so much history. The building tells one story, the traders bring another, and together it becomes something completely new.“
