Jason Hawkes is our kind of daredevil. Having spent every week of last year leaning out of the open door of a AS355 helicopter, the photographer has now got together a seriously stunning collection of snaps of famous London landmarks pictured from the sky.
Among the photos are some of our city’s prime locations, including Piccadilly Circus by night and Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and of course, the famous Shard. One of our favourites is the ghostly illuminated Winter Wonderland, which is a totally different experience seen from above than on the ground.
Hawkes said, “It’s amazing how London keeps changing, and its a great privilege to fly over the city documenting this.” His photos couldn’t make us more proud to be a Londoner. What do you think?
