Sandwich Sandwich have quickly become the spot for a sarnie in the city – and believe me, they have some stiff competition. Icons down in Bristol for long before they set foot in the capital, it didn’t take long for Londoners to understand the Sandwich Sandwich hype. These legends opened their first London shop back in July, and crowds came in droves to queue for their famously giant sandwiches. You can read all about their menu and see our honest review of their sarnies over here. But we’re here to talk about the news they just broke on social media: there’s a new shop coming to the City of London, and it’s going to be the biggest sandwich shop in the UK.
What do we know so far?
Not a great deal, honestly. Their social media post is all we’ve got to work with so far. But I’ll do my best to summarise:
You will find Sandwich Sandwich’s new store at 70 Mark Lane, near Fenchurch Street station, where it will occupy 3,500 square feet of space. That is absolutely bloody massive but, as I said, these are absolutely bloody massive sandwiches. If anyone was going to open up the biggest sandwich shop in the UK, I would have petitioned for it to be Sandwich Sandwich, but no campaigning necessary: these guys know what’s what. They are kind of a big deal.
The store is likely to open in either December or January, but there is nothing set it stone. We will keep you updated, of course. (When it is finally announced to press… ahem.)
