Whether you’re already in excitement overdrive for a festival that is still seven (7) months away or you’re resigned to watch from the sofa again after missing out on tickets, there’s one thing for sure: you’ll be keeping an eye out for the Glastonbury lineup this year.
The very first act to be confirmed for the festival is none other than Rod Stewart, who will play at the hallowed Sunday afternoon ‘Legend’s slot’ in the next edition of the Worthy Farm event. Previous acts that have played here have included Shania Twain, Cat Stevens, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Barry Gibb, Dolly Parton, and many more, with Rod Stewart joining esteemed company!
Taking to Instagram, festival organiser Emily Eavis said: “Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for. What a way to bow out with the final legends slot before we take a fallow year. We cannot wait!”
Who else is playing Glastonbury 2025?
If only we knew! Now we’re just getting down to the rumours, which have included the likes of Eminem, Olivia Rodrigo, Charli XCX, Sam Fender, The 1975 and Bruce Springsteen. As always, Emily Eavis and co. are tight-lipped on the situation until the big announcements come our way.
Last year, the festival was headlined by Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA.
Can I still get tickets to the Glastonbury Festival?
With the main ticket sales over and done with, your chances are now looking quite slim. All hope is not (quite) lost, though. The festival runs a resale for returned tickets, which traditionally takes place in April ahead of the event, once current ticketholders have fully paid off their places at Glastonbury.
Glastonbury Festival takes place between June 25-29, 2025. Rod Stewart is the first act confirmed for the festival, and he will play the Sunday afternoon ‘Legend’s slot’ on June 29.
