Fundada em 1811, a Dulwich Picture Gallery foi a primeira galeria de arte pública construída propositadamente em todo o mundo. Iniciada em 2012 numa colaboração entre o adorado artista de rua londrino Stik e a falecida Ingrid Bezley, foi um projeto concebido para “recriar velhos mestres nas ruas da zona“. Atualmente, está repleto de peças de artistas de renome, como Thierry Noir, Faith47, Nunca e Conor Harrington. 3. Beber umas cervejas num pub ou dois
Aqui na Secret London adoramos um bom e velho bar – afinal, somos londrinos – e Dulwich está cheia de alguns absolutamente fantásticos. As nossas melhores escolhas seriam o East Dulwich Tavern – que os entendidos apelidam de “The EDT” – que tem muito charme, lareiras e um excelente assado de domingo, e o The Rosendale, que tem um enorme jardim de cerveja nas traseiras.
Outros locais fantásticos incluem o Watson’s General Telegraph, com muita cerveja artesanal, o The Crown and Greyhound e o The Great Exhibition – que tem um brunch sem fundo, quizzes regulares e um evento chamado “Pampers and Champers ” – especificamente concebido para os pais que gostam de beber um copo de vinho ao início da tarde.
4. Desfrute de alguma paz e sossego na Christ’s Chapel

Por falar em paz e sossego, terá muito disso no Dulwich Park, classificado como Grade II, que oferece 29 hectares de espaço aberto para passar as horas. Há aqui um belo lago com um café com vista para ele – o local perfeito para uma ou duas cervejas quentes – e também pode utilizar os campos de ténis e basquetebol, redes de críquete, ginásio ao ar livre e até pedalinhos e barcos a remos, se se sentir um pouco mais ativo.

6. Fazer uma visita ao adorado Museu Horniman
Situado na fronteira entre Dulwich e Forest Hill, o Horniman Museum and Gardens é um local muito apreciado (e gratuito!) que foi fundado no final do século XIX. Baseado nas colecções enciclopédicas do comerciante de chá inglês Frederick John Horniman, encontrará uma galeria de taxidermia (incluindo uma famosa morsa demasiado recheada), uma Galeria Mundial baseada em diversas civilizações de todo o mundo, uma casa de borboletas, um aquário subterrâneo (com entrada extra) e até algumas lamas engraçadas nos jardins paisagísticos.
Têm também uma série de exposições em constante mudança ao longo do ano. 7. Fazer compras até cair em Dulwich Village
Frequentada por pessoas como o apresentador de notícias da BBC Huw Edwards, o comediante Mickey Flanagan e os actores James Nesbitt e Iain Glen, Dulwich Village é certamente popular – e por boas razões. 9. Tentar fazer um hole in one no Dulwich & Sydenham Golf Club
Este campo de golfe de 6.100 jardas está situado nas encostas de Sydenham Hill e oferece vistas incríveis sobre os reluzentes arranha-céus da cidade e os relvados imaculados e bem cuidados do Dulwich College.
Fundado pelo conceituado arquiteto de campos de golfe Harry Shapland Colt em 1894, é um local bastante elegante, caracterizado por fairways ondulantes, greens rápidos e árvores maduras – ou seja, um local encantador para uma partida de golfe. É necessário ser membro, mas se estiver interessado no seu swing, vale a pena juntar-se a nós só pelas espectaculares vistas panorâmicas. 10. Refrescar-se com um mergulho no Brockwell Lido
Ok, estamos a fazer um pouco de batota com este, pois o Brockwell Lido fica tecnicamente em Herne Hill. No entanto, é tão bom que não poderíamos deixar de o incluir, para ser honesto. Uma piscina exterior de 50 metros operada pelas mesmas pessoas que o London Fields Lido, este local tranquilo para nadar é conhecido pelos seus edifícios Art Deco e pelo seu café-bar – que, na verdade, é bastante bem considerado, muito obrigado.
O parque circundante é também um sítio muito agradável para passar o resto da tarde, e há também muitos bons pubs nas proximidades. Pode reservar as suas sessões de natação aqui. No entanto, um conselho – não é aquecido, por isso prepare-se para estar bastante fresco!

11. Dê um passo atrás no tempo no Cemitério Velho de Camberwell

Existe aqui uma casa de estilo gótico que foi restaurada após um incêndio na década de 1970, bem como 288 sepulturas de serviço da Commonwealth da Primeira Guerra Mundial. Existem também dois memoriais Screen Wall, que mencionam os nomes dos homens tragicamente mortos durante a Primeira e a Segunda Guerra Mundial, respetivamente.

Cuidada pelo London Wildlife Trust e um Sítio de Importância Metropolitana para a Conservação da Natureza, é a maior área remanescente do antigo Great North Wood, que se estendia de Deptford até quase Croydon.
