Oxford Street Could Be Pedestrianised By 2020

If you’ve ever been shopping in London we’re gunna assume you’ve probably been to Oxford Street at least once and so we don’t need to tell you how busy and crowded it really is.

Although cars are already banned from the street between 7am and 7pm (excluding Sundays), plans to totally remove all traffic including busses and taxis from Oxford street are underway and this 2.1 mile tourist swamped road is expected to be completely pedestrianised by 2020.

This comes in compliance with recently elected London mayor Sadiq Khan’s plans to tackle air pollution – you’ve probably seen those heart-string pulling posters of children suffering from air pollution on the tube – yeah well this is supposedly gna help with that.

The complete pedestrianisation of Oxford street will make this destination a lot safer and more pleasant to visit (which means an increase of tourists, yay) and will hopefully help to reduce air pollution in the city… Which is pretty f*cking important cos we enjoy breathing you know?!
