Up to 4,000 London Underground staff are set to begin a 24-hour walkout this weekend. The strike is due to start at 6.00pm this Sunday 8th January and will last until the following evening at 5.59pm Monday 9th January. This walkout, organised by the RMT, is in protest against job cuts and the safety of staff and passengers. 2016 saw over 800 London Underground jobs cut, as well as numerous ticket office closures. The worst news is that this strike will run across all Underground lines.
Those of you that walk to work, we’re sorry but you have no excuse. The rest of you, it’s time to whip out the trainers and up the long-distance mileage! #NewYearNewYou #Health
It’s not actually that far to walk between stations. This map shows you how many steps are between each one.
