If you were in Borough Market this weekend – casually nibbling on cheese tasters without a care in the world – you may well have witnessed an unexpected sight. On Saturday morning, a base jumper leapt off London’s tallest landmark – the Shard, standing at 1017ft. Jason Sudborough captured the footage of the moment below.
The London daredevil parachuted safely to the ground, landing in St Thomas’ Street close to Borough Market. Onlookers were shocked by his landing, which was said to be extremely ‘tight’. Reports claim that the base jumper gathered his parachute and cleared off as quickly as possible…

MET police were called to the scene on Saturday morning and began investing the incident.
