Can we all rejoice?! Perhaps not quite yet… Since Brexit, the Wall Street Journal has reported that New York City and Hong Kong have both knocked London off its ranking as the world’s most expensive city (in terms of the cost-of-living). But it doesn’t mean we’re going to see the price of coffee going down. Sigh.
London did claim top spot for 2 and a half years prior to this July, which saw both the sterling drop against the dollar and the property market take a hit. The latest research, carried out by Savills, examines the costs for an employee to live in rented housing and work in an office for a year. So tell us this – why hasn’t our rent gone down?!
