New year, new shiny award for London to add to its ever-growing trophy cabinet. With its vibrant entertainment scene, its mouth-watering culinary hotspots, and its (somewhat) easy-to-use transport system; London has officially been crowned the best city in Europe (and the second-best in the entire world, might we add?) for Gen-Z jetsetters. Hooray!
That’s right: transport booking platform, Omio, have done the research, crunched the numbers, and revealed where the youngsters are most-likely to enjoy travelling to. And yes, we’re feeling pretty darn happy about the results.
100 cities across 41 countries were put under the microscope and ranked on factors that are particularly important to Generation Z. Diversity and equality were taken into account, as well as the number of veggie and vegan food spots, how many events are on offer, and how affordable things are. Okay, maybe we can’t win at everything.
Based on the research, London is considered the most exciting travel destination in Europe for the younger generation (and yes, before you ask, this article has officially made me feel ancient). London offers a plethora of live entertainment events, a multitude of diverse, culinary spots and some of the largest gaming events in the world. Mobile payment is widely accepted and uncomplicated, and the transport network – on the whole – is quick and (relatively) painless.
London is also bursting at the seams with things to do. Whether you wish to spend your visit wandering around one of the many museums or filming TikTok videos in front of one of the iconic landmarks; there really is something for everyone.
The world’s best destination for Gen-Z travellers:
So there you have it. London is officially the best city in Europe and the second-best in the whole world for Gen-Z travellers. But, of course, we think that London is the perfect destination for visitors of all ages – but then again, perhaps we’re a little bit biased…
