Now, summer is still a while away, but the cracks of light start appearing through the grey skies when the festival lineups are announced and we can all envisage dancing in a field again. They don’t come bigger than Glastonbury festival, either, which has just dropped its giant wave of acts for 2024.
After months of rumours and anticipation, it has been revealed that Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA will headline the Worthy Farm event this year, with Shania Twain poised to let out the anthems and impress the crowd (much) during the Sunday afternoon legends slot.
Elsewhere across the legendary Somerset festival, we can look forward to The National, IDLES, and Disclosure headlining the Other Stage; as well as a Mercury-award-winning trio on the Pyramid Stage of Little Simz, PJ Harvey, and Michael Kiwanuka. Acts like Madonna and Bruce Springsteen were heavily rumoured for the festival, but won’t headline this year. Now the attention will turn to the rest of the giant lineup to come, with the potential for some giant secret sets thrown in the mix. View the full lineup below poster below.
The Glastonbury 2024 headliners
Much has been made of the Glastonbury Festival headliners this year after the festival was criticised in 2023 for not booking a single female headliner (Arctic Monkeys, Guns N Roses, and Elton John). Organiser Emily Eavis then vowed that two acts at the very top of Glastonbury 2024 would be female, and they are, in fact, two first-time headliners in Dua Lipa and SZA. The former has played Glastonbury once before in 2017, and news of her topping the Pyramid Stage comes a day after the announcement of her new record, Radical Optimism.
For SZA, it marks a first-time performance at the festival as whole off the back of her 2022 smash record, SOS. Coldplay, AKA one of the Glastonbury house bands, are back to headline for a fifth time, which is a new record, and come as a UK festival exclusive.
How do I get tickets to Glastonbury 2024?
It’s a tricky one, given the main sales took place in November last year, but you still have a chance. A resale of returned tickets is due to take place next month, meaning a certain number will be up for grabs. As ever, demand for the 200,000 capacity festival is incredibly hight so you’ll need to make sure your internet is running at high speed on that day. Find out more information here.
