The sun actually shone in London for more than two consecutive hours this morning, so as far as I’m concerned, it’s time to slap on the factor 50 and make a mad dash to the supermarket for a disposible barbeque. That’s right, folks: summer is on its way. Well, summer might not be just yet. But Fulham Beach Club certainly is. And that’s good enough for me.
You now no longer need a passport and a long haul flight to be transported to a white sand beach. A trusty Oyster card will suffice, as London’s favourite urban beach has made its grand return to the capital city for a season of sun, fun and un…believably immaculate vibes.
Hot on the heels of their brr-illiant Winterland season (no rest for the wicked, hey?), Fulham Beach Club is back for its eighth year, courtesy of Neverland – and it’s set to be bigger, better and – well – beach-ier than ever.
Bringing some (well-needed) sunshine to west London, the urban paradise and its signature pastel-coloured beach huts and picture-perfect pergolas will overlook the Thames. The perfect spot to sip, snack and snap photos that will inevitably be captioned ‘costa del London‘.
What can you expect this year?
Well, guests can (as always) expect a jam-packed schedule of sizzling summer events. They’ll be marking major summer milestones such as the Love Island finale and the Mean Girls sequel (so the most important things, really) and hosting a whole load of iconic themed events.
DJs, live performers, drag queens, and magicians will all be on hand to provide top-notch entertainment that suits any and every celebration. Bottomless brunches will be back with a bang and the games area will be full decked out with interactive darts, shuffleboard, and beer pong. Because who doesn’t love a bit of competitive socialising, hey?
Fulham Beach Club will – of course – make sure you’re kept well-fed and watered, with food and drink served throughout the whole venue. Guests can gorge on burgers, wings, pizzas and sharing platters, whilst sipping on an array of summery cocktails, beers, wines and prosecco.
And don’t panic; because this is the UK, everything here is weather-proofed in case the sun decides not to arrive. It’s no basic beach, you know…
What’s new this year?
An oh-so exciting addition to Neverland this year will be their designer dinghies, available to book for a good old knees-up on the Thames. Two boats will be available to drink, dine and soak up the sunshine in from April 26; so seas the day and book your slot before they’re gone!
Co-founder of Neverland, Rachel Hutson said: “We’ve always had ambitions to bring celebratory vibes to the Thames; why should summer fun be restricted to our sandy beach when it can spread to the waves? Our pretty pastel boats will provide the perfect setting to enjoy a cocktail or two, soak up the sun or take that perfect sea selfie. All aboard, Fulham Beach Club is officially afloat for the summer..”
Whether you wish to party on water or land; there’s something for you. It’s – quite literally – whatever floats your boat.
