Rage rooms seem to be all the rage recently. With the cost of living crisis, anxiety-inducing news, and relentless work routine – it’s no surprise that Londoners are yearning for a way to relieve themselves of all the stress and frustration. The solution? Well, rage rooms of course. They’re the ultimate safe haven for stress relief where therapy meets destruction.
Have you ever had intrusive thoughts of smashing a massive 70-inch TV screen for absolutely no reason but you’re too hyper-aware of the expensive consequences? Well, now you can let your intrusive thoughts win and smash away because we’ve got breaking news for you: there are a handful of rage rooms within easy access from London.
1. Smash Room, Bexley
Based in zone 6, Smash Room is currently London’s only rage room. Part of a local company called Reverse and Change, they’re dedicated to upcycling and recycling in Erith. Materials that are not used in the Reverse and Change wholesale are the ones that supply the Smash Room’s items. You can also smash away china that is then re-purposed as materials for customers to buy for upcycling projects and other art classes such as mosaicking!
Get changed into PPE, choose your smashing soundtrack, set up a phone to record if you wish, choose your weapon and get smashing!
📍Reverse and Change Ltd, Unit 9b, Europa Trading Estate, Fraser Road, Erith, DA8 1QL.
🎫 From £28 for a full 15 minutes, £100 group smash for one hour and more. Find information here.
2. Rage Out, Maidstone
You can Rage Out for 30 minutes in this destructively therapeutic experience. You can choose to vent your frustration with the likes of hammers, baseball bats and crowbars. And you can soundtrack the experience with Rage Out’s personally curated playlist or your own music – then it’s time to release that built-up stress!
You can break a variety of items like bottles, plates, DVD players, kettles, speakers and all manner of shiny objects!

It’s also one of the few options where participants don’t have to be 18 and above to engage in the activity. If you’re aged between 8-13 you can throw items against the wall in the rage room. Alternatively, those aged 13-17 can take part in the proper smashing – albeit with restrictions on the tools they can use.
