If you’re looking for a sumptuous bed to rest your weary head, London’s eclectic array of establishments have got you covered like a cosy cashmere blanket. But with the sheer number of gorgeous spots to spend a night in the capital setting up shop, it’s pretty tricky to work out which of them live up to their (rather eye-watering) price-tag.
The hotel-connoisseurs over at Condé Nast Traveller have, once again, saved us all from trawling through the internet, though. They’ve recently released the 30th edition of their annual ‘Hot List’, detailing the best new hotels, restaurants, and cruises on the entire planet. Two luxurious London locales earnt themselves a comfy spot on the list of the world’s best new hotels. One of which can be found inside a former Art Deco department store in the heart of west London.

Six Senses, London
A big-wig in the world of wellness and hospitality, Six Senses is a luxury hotel resort brand, boasting an impressive offering of establishments across the globe. In March 2026, they decided to dip their toe in London’s luxury hotel pond, opening their first site in the capital. Six Senses can now be found inside the iconic Bayswater building that was home to the city’s first-ever department store, Whiteleys. And less than 2 months after swinging open its swanky doors, it’s been named one of the best new hotels in the world. Not bad, hey?
The beloved Art Deco building underwent a rather hefty £1.5 billion redevelopment for the occasion. And whilst many of the structure’s historic assets are still intact (including the marble staircase and historic Victorian dome), the space has been transformed into a modern masterpiece of warmth and wellness.

Boasting 109 deliciously-decorated rooms and suites (many of which come complete with their own terraces); it wouldn’t be hard to see why Six Senses has been named amongst the best new hotels in the world based on its rooms alone. But perhaps the shiniest gem in its crown comes in the form of its spa. Home to a swimming pool, sauna, crystal bed, and the UK’s first magnesium pool, the Six Senses spa seamlessly blends high-tech treatments with timeless rituals to ensure you leave the space feeling restored, revitalised, and ready to take on the world.
