Oh the underground! Some of us love it, most of us hate it. But we can all agree that it’s a downright pain in the arse a lot of the time.
Holborn is famed for being absolutely terrible at rush hour, and that was before they tried to implement the stupid rule that everybody has to stand still on the escalators (as if that was ever going to work in The City of The Impatient). Now, just to piss everybody off just that little bit more, commuters will not be able to change from the Central line to the Piccadilly line at the station from August 22.
While the work is going on, there will be no access from the Central line to the Piccadilly line between 7.30am and 10am on weekdays (because obviously they wanted to cause as much disruption as they possibly could). They’re not expecting it to be over until autumn 2017, so that’s only about 13 months of turmoil. No big deal.
Oh and just to top it all off, the station will also be exit-only during the morning rush until March 2018.
Cheers Holborn, you’re the best.
