Eat, work, sleep, repeat is pretty mundane. It’s enough to make you want to skip town, and maybe even the world, eh? Well, funny that, as we have the ticket to do just so. Avora: New World Cocktail Experience transports visitors to a new world, all the while letting you enjoy unique cocktails.
The whole experience is about more than just flavour; drawing on all the senses – taste, smell, sight, sound and touch – this is truly a cocktail adventure. Avora, located at the Rosewood Building in Hackney, is the brainchild of those behind the famed Alcotraz experience, and will have you collecting your cocktail ingredients, partaking in a theatrical storyline that’ll keep you thinking long after you’ve gone home.
The cocktail experience
If the world of Avatar had your head spinning, you’ll fall for the intoxicating world of Avora too – and, film lovers, the set design feels like something out of a movie. As the story goes, you’ll rock up at ‘Roscorp Laboratories’, owned by a greedy CEO, and be briefed on a mission before you enter Avora.
Donning a custom jumpsuit, you’ll enter this world and source magical buds and secret elixirs for three unique cocktails, all the while admiring the gorgeous greenery, and other-worldly attributes. While you’re in Avora, time moves fast from morning to evening; the bioluminescence you’ll experience at ‘night’ is something really special. As you get acclimatised, a moral dilemma will present itself: do you continue to support the plans of the billionaire, or rebel and protect this new planet? The storyline of the experience touches on deeper themes reflecting earth’s climate crisis, and the team behind Avora have taken steps to respect this throughout the whole production. The team have partnered with UK environmental organisation, Ecologi, and will be planting a tree for every Avora experience ticket sold. As for the cocktails themselves, they’ve been co-created with the Sustainable Restaurant Group to ensure the highest possible sustainability standards are met.
The Avora experience is perfect for a mates’ outing, get-to-know-you date, or even for colleagues wanting to do something a little different. Avora: New World Cocktail Experience is open Tuesday to Sunday, with slots lasting one hour and 45 minutes throughout the afternoon and evening.
