5 New Maps That Show Exactly How Heavily Populated London Is

It’s not something we’ve ever been unsure of exactly…but having seen these maps our fears have finally been realised…London is absolutely f*cking rammed. So much so that TimeOut have managed to fit the population of various city districts, metropolitan counties and the number of citizens from some American cities into London. And, oh wait for it…even COUNTRIES. Say whaatttttt, you might say. Well, yes. YES. TimeOut are awfully good at making our jaws drop, and they’ve only gone and done it again.

This time last year, Greater London was called home by around 8.6 million. This means that you could fit people from all of these city districts into the Big Smoke. For example…

Not only that, but even if you take entire metropolitan counties, everyone from five of the biggest can still fit into Greater London:

It even turns out that there are more Londoners than Scottish (5.3 million) and Welsh (3.0 million) people COMBINED!

London is even more populous than all of these countries combined…

As well as Switzerland, Finland, Israel, Denmark, Norway, Jamaica and New Zealand (individually, not combined…!) In FACT, if we became our own country we’d be the 96th largest – just a couple of thousand people smaller than Austria.

Jusstttttt let that sink in.
