If anywhere in London is going to look a million pounds this Christmas, it will be the lavish districts of Mayfair and Belgravia. This year, not only will Belgravia’s shop windows be adorned with gorgeous festive displays throughout the whole of December, but there will also be a wonderful line-up of events and Christmas markets coming to both districts. So flick on some Wham!, whip out your festive diary and pencil in these dates, because it sure is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go. Especially if you go to Mayfair. And Belgravia.
Christmas Market in Mayfair
If you’re already giddy with excitement for Christmas, you’ll be pleased to know that you haven’t got long to wait for festive fun. A week-long market will be held in Mayfair’s Brown Hart Gardens towards the end of this month. With plenty of gifts and crafty stalls, it will be the perfect trip for stocking fillers. And, of course, there are lots of treats to nibble on while you browse. You can check out the event on Facebook here.
When: 23rd – 30th November between 11.00am – 8.00pm
Brown Hart Gardens
Christmas on Pimlico Road
The ultra chic design district, Pimlico Road, will host a Christmas edition of its weekly farmers’ market on Orange Square. The market will feature stalls selling all of the Christmas trimmings, which you can peruse with a bag of roasted chestnuts in hand. The event will be fun for all the family, featuring live music and a “Twelve Days of Christmas” treasure hunt.
When: Saturday 3rd December 10.00 am – 4.00pm
Orange Square, Pimlico Road
Belgravia Christmas Sunday
For the tenth year running, Belgravia Christmas Sunday returns to Elizabeth Street, bringing with it an unmissable line up of around 60 artisan craft and independent stall holders, as well as a selection of seasonal food and drinks from local traders. Father Christmas and his reindeer will be making an appearance and, as with all of the Christmas markets in Belgravia and Mayfair, this is free to enter and wander around. You can find out more about the event here.
When: Sunday 4th December 11.00am – 5.00pm
St Pauls Celebrity Carol Service
Christmas in Belgravia would not be complete without its highly anticipated annual Carol Service held at St Paul’s Church. As always, there will be a fluttering of famous faces doing readings at the service, including Hugh Bonneville – who you may know for his role as Lord Grantham in Downton Abbey. After the service, there will be a champagne reception as well as festive food stalls. Head to the St Paul’s Knightbridge website to buy tickets here.
When: Tuesday 6th December – 6.30pm
St Pauls Church, Knightsbridge
