The Women’s World Cup kicked off in style last month (July 20), with a flurry of brilliant games taking place throughout July and August at the host nations of Australia and New Zealand.
While the early kick-off times have been an adjustment for us all here in London, we’ve been no less excited to witness all the goals, no matter how sleep-deprived we are, or how hard it is to hide the tab with the game on from our bosses in the office (if you saw me doing that during the match this morning, no you didn’t).
The Lionesses will be hoping to repeat their glorious success of last summer, when Chloe Kelly’s dramatic winner secured victory for England at the Euros against Germany. We’ve now reach the final game, after England’s 3-1 victory over Australia was enough to send them through to their first Women’s World Cup Final, in which they will face Spain on Sunday, August 20. Here are some of the best places to catch all the action unfolding in London during the Women’s World Cup.
1. Boxpark
Hi, I’m Troy McClure Boxpark – you may remember me from such shenanigans as England 2-1 Germany at the Women’s Euros final in 2022 and England 2-1 Denmark at the Men’s Euros in 2021. Now I’m back showing games for the big Australia and New Zealand World Cup 2023, readying up the beer showers and food towers once again. It’s big screen football heaven, baby!
Boxpark were never not going to show these matches, were they? There are DJs, games before kick-off, and even a Weetaboxpark at Shoredtich event letting guests enjoy a breakfast during the early kick-off hours. Paid tickets come with a food voucher for one of the many food vendors around the venues, so tuck in and support the team during the final at Boxpark.

2. Clubhouse 5
If you want to meet all your mates scattered around the city of London, then the central meeting point of Clubhouse 5 could be the answer. The Leicester Square sports bar is decked out in retro football shirt decorations with a multitude of 4K screens providing a view into the main event taking place over 10,000 miles from these shores. Wishing for the Lionesses to bring it home or not, this is your place to catch the final.

3. Big Penny Social
We can’t talk about giant places to watch sports events at without a mention of the UK’s largest beer hall. Big Penny Social is the Walthamstow Colosseum when it comes to watching big international fixtures (i.e. the Women’s World Cup), and their giant 16ft wide screen is the gladiator we all come to witness. Could Maximus Decimus Meridius score a bicycle kick? No, I don’t think he could – but you might just witness one here, as you tuck into hearty breakfast and bloody mary. Walthamstow 1-0 Ancient Rome. Hopefully the Lionesses can also be victorious come this Sunday.

4. C-Screens Pop-Up, Spitalfields
Though we might have taken a bit of a drenching in July this year, it has only get better in August (in regards to the cup run for England, anyway). If you fancy an outdoor screening of the game when (yes, it needs to be manifested) the sun comes out, then C-Screens in Spitalfields are showing the Lionesses in action, with free screenings that are open for walk-ins.
📍Find the C-Screens pop-up at Bishops Square Gardens.
5. TOCA Social
Of course, the immersive football bar at the O2 is going to prove a stellar location to watch the Women’s World Cup in London. For an early start, you can nab yourself a £20 work-and-watch package that lets you take in the big screen tackles and saves while letting you plug your laptop in for a more rowdy remote work setup than you may be used to, plus plenty of breakfast and lunch options to keep you fed. 6. ETM Sports Bars & Kitchens
These venues scattered around London provided the perfect setup for the Women’s World Cup 2023 matches, even for games that were kicking off as early as 8am UK time. The final will be shown all around the ETM venues with giant screens to immerse yourself entirely into the battles on the pitches, and hopefully that will mean a winner from Alessia Russo this Sunday.

7. Pavilion End
A classic boozer for watching sport in London, the Pavillion End has been hosting the early kick-offs for the England games at the World Cup. Let’s hope the Lionesses can got the distance once again to we can hole up hear and pray for the nation’s first World Cup glory since 1966. It’s coming home…
