If you miss your mouthwatering Mexican food fill, you can now WFH (Wahaca from home).
“Wahaca At Home” is a fun new initiative from the popular restaurant chain. A content platform to satisfy hungry, locked down users, it’s the tac(g)o-to base to help keep you sane and, more importantly, well-fed. [Featured Image: Wahaca, Instagram]
Wahaca will post recipes on their Instagram and Facebook for viewers to follow along, so anyone who’s anyone can become a master of the art of Mexican cuisine throughout quarantine.
Each stream comes with a full list of ingredients and written instructions. This week, for example, viewers were treated to a mushroom taco masterclass. The videos come straight from the kitchen of Thomasina Miers, the restaurant group’s co-founder.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming all of our taco fans back to our restaurants as soon as we possibly can,” Miers commented. “But in the meantime, we hope they’ll welcome us into their homes to shine a few rays of Mexican sunshine and, of course, help satisfy those cravings for delicious Mexican food at a time when so many of us need to stay indoors.”
Along with the streams, each recipe will be posted to their new online platform, resulting in a growing feed of options to choose from. Right now, Wahaca At Home has everything from black bean and cheese empanadas to tortilla soup with feta and tomato, all the way to fiery chilli chicken quesadillas.
There’s also the first cocktail edition, featuring a detailed recipe for a classic margarita. We would say it’s perfect for the weekend, but each day feels eerily similar in the lockdown life, so go nuts! Whip these up with some sweetcorn and chorizo fritters on any day of the week!
On Instagram, Wahaca have also invited users to share their attempts at the recipes using the hashtag #WahacaAtHome.
